Im old too and I love our current uniforms but I'm okay with shaking it up every once in a while. It seems crazy that you would get recruits just because they like your uniforms! Gotta love that bling.
I thought this was interesting from the article;

So let me get this straight your a father and have raised 3 boys all involved in SPORTS. On top of that your the Head Football Coach at a Major College University that coaches 18 to 23 year olds and your telling me saying you don't understand the uniform craze.. YEAH RIGHT!!!.

I get the uniform craze a little bit. But it is over the top. The throwbacks for the Iowa St game were terrible in my opinion. Some of the throwbacks have been pretty cool. I just don't really understand why this is something that has to be done every single year. Kind of loses its luster after a few times. Not to mention they are going to run out of teams to "throwback" to.

KF has said in the not too distant past that he wasnt big into texting or the twitter.
The man isn't as up to date as others. He just goes out and coaches ball. I won't fault him for that.

I get what you are saying but its not like we don't have an identity. The Iowa uniforms and more so the Tigerhawk, are among the more recognized in college football. It seems we have a different throwback uniform ever year. How many different unis do we need?
There was a time when players did not care about their number. Just give them a jersey and they'd be responsible that number one which people talked about. Now you've got players who want to spend more time in front of the mirror than the cheerleaders.
Can the players spend less time caring about how they look and more time figuring how to improve?
