Kirk Bohls says Mike Stoops is considering OSU, Neb & Iowa

well there is your answer about Norm... if true, I am sure KF and co are not too pleased it got leaked out.

The fact that this is Norm's last year is the worst kept secret in Iowa.

All you have to do is look at the guy and read the career long accolades that are coming out. The Iowa AD even re-posted the award he won on facebook yesterday.

To me the only question is whether it gets announced before or after the Insight.

if this is his last hurrah, and it appears that it is, i would think it would be announced prior to the bowl game.

You will be able to tell by KF's reaction after we win the Insight Bowl if it isnt announced prior to the game.

The embrace I witnessed between Kirk and Norm on the field after the Insight last year (Norm in a wheelchair) made me think that was the end. It was real emotional. I choked up. After they parted ways, Norm was just sitting there in his wheel chair, tears running down his face...no one else around. I walked up and shook his hand, he just nodded.

I agree with this...If its gonna be Norm's last go, I'd love for them to announce it soon so Norm can receive a month's worth of love from the Iowa fans.

Then again, Norm seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't want to create a distraction during bowl prep. I'd put my money on it being announced after the game.

" I was referring to the Stoops is considering Iowa rumor"

Interestingly coincidental that just below the Stoops speculation, he mentions that A&M needs someone with fire after "two emotionless head coaches". Makes you wonder if that popped into his mind after typing "IOWA".

I would be more excoted about stoops coming to Iowa than I was about Epstein in Chicago....a defensive coach with fire and intensity that would force the other teams hand would be huge. The bullies of the BIG would be back.

I remember you writing about that. Now that there has been time to reflect, maybe it could have been because of how difficult the year was on Norm physically and also the struggles the team went through last year.

Just a thought.

If it comes down to money. Iowa is out. If it comes down to the familys love for Iowa through the years, we have a shot.

thought the day NORM parker retired, PHIL parker would take over. just assumed KF would promote from within, which would be a horrible choice. we NEED stoops! even tho i think he's a hot head, we need the fire and need to step up our "vanilla" style D. everyone in B1G is going to have to step it up with UM at ohio st!
