Welcome to the Big 10, Nebraska!

Im just messing with you. You said blowout (+17 pts) i said no way.

I think the B1G will fair well in the Bowl games, especially since they will only be in 1 BCS game.

i'm gonna have to disagree. today was a prime example of how average the big ten is this year.

#17MSU nearly loses to a very bad minny team
#15MI loses to an average Iowa team
#10Neb loses to a not very good NW team.
Indiana hangs with tOSU

when the standings come out tomorrow, there wont be a big ten team in the top 17. that's as down as the conference has been ever since I can remember. take into account how the conference faired in the OOC part of the schedule, and it isnt looking good come bowl season. I could see every big 10 team other than Iowa losing (since Iowa for one reason or another always finds a ay to win bowl games)

The fact that Iowa has a fairly decent (although not likely or probably) shot at winning the conference shows me that the Big ten just isn't that impressive this year. I still think we're the third best conference in college football though.

Sagarin has Big10 and Pac10 virtually tied behind SEC and Big XII

Well it is a good thing that rankings don't win bowl games.

The poster made MSU out to be terrible by barely beating Minny.

I dont think barely beating minny helps the argument that MSU is elite, does it? I'm not saying MSU is terrible, but they aren't a great team by any means. today clearly illustrated that.

I provided a rationale for why I disagreed with your opinion:

do you have anything other than "Iowa is awesome = big ten is awesome = big ten will do great in bowl games, awesome!" or do you have a logical reason for your opinion?

go away Troll go celebrate barely beating Kansas on cf

I'm not saying it does. the rankings do show that the big ten is down compared to recent years when they have had more teams that are ranked higher at this point in the year. I think that, along with the poor OOC record from earlier this season, would suggest the conference will struggle come bowl season.

That's so 2010.

Seriously though, that sounds about right though. I think Wisconsin could beat Stanford though that's the only Big ten team who probably could and I don't know if anyone beats Oregon.

I put the Big Ten above them though because Illinois beat their 3rd best team and Minnesota almost beat their second best team. Nebraska also beat Washington who has looked pretty good too. And no one from that conference has a significant win in the non-conference season that I can think of aside from Notre Dame losing to USC.

Playing this comparative score thing is stupid. Using your logic it is safe to assume the Big 12 isn't that good because TT beat the hell out of Oklahoma, then turns around and gets the hell beaten out of them by ISU and Texas while Oklahoma destroys Kansas St and A&M.

Does this mean ISU is going to destroy K-State or that they will beat Oklahoma?

today, ISU did what Iowa failed to do last week. A team that had nothing to play for gave ISU everything they had. trick plays, double/triple reverses, the whole 9 yards. however, unlike Iowa did last week vs Minnesota, the Cyclones made stops when they needed to and did what they had to do to get out with a win.

The cyclones were also at home...

Ha. only in my wettest of dreams will ISU destroy OU and Kstate...

I'm not trying to say team A beat team B so that means they'd beat team C. I'm just saying that there aren't really any elite teams in the big ten. there seems to be a lot of average and then some real bad. I used rankings/OOC to try to support my opinion and apparently that just doesnt work for you. whatever I guess. we'll just have to see how it plays out in bowl season.

Nebby has list similar games in the B12 in recent history. This hasn't been your father's Nebby in a long time.

Why i am arguing anything with you is beyond me. My point was with only one BCS team, everyone in the B1G ten drops a spot in the bowl alignment. Who would you take?

1 Rose Bowl PSU vs. Stanford
2 Capital One Bowl MSU vs. Arkansas
3 Outback Bowl Nebraska vs. S. Carolina
4/5 Gator Bowl OSU vs. Auburn
4/5 Insight Bowl Wisconsin vs. Texas
6 Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas Michigan vs. Mizzou
7 TicketCity Bowl Iowa vs. Texas Tech
8 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl Illinois vs. N. Illinois

Obviously this is all very fluid

with those matchups there, the only big ten wins I would put money on would be Illinois and Iowa. I guess Nebbie, maybe, but that's only because SC is now without their starting QB and Running back.

you honestly see a winning record there?
