Week 2 Betting Action

I'm guessing that people are looking at the names of who we lost last year and taking the points. I really feel Vegas set the line where it did thinking heavy action would be on the Hawks early and drive the line up and then have action comeback once it was over 10. While it looks like 73% of the action is on Iowa the real money is on ISU keeping it where it's at. I don't know how you don't take the Hawks, but bets that seem to good to be true generally are...

7 out of 10 bets are on the Hawks. Yet more money is coming in on ISU to drive the line to 6 in some joints.

Sounds like wise guy money to me.

Half unit on FIU tonight at +3.5 & I got in late on the ASU craze, half unit at -9. Almost made me switch to mizzou and buy a point! Best of luck on everyone's bets!

I'm torn on FIU/Louisville. Sharps love FIU. Hate betting against low spread home team on Fri though...

What's a half unit?

Half a unit is half of what you normally bet. ie if u normally bet 100 then u bet 50. or bet 110 to win 100 then u bet 55 to win 50. those that have lower bankrolls their units might be $20 increments.

BetUS, nothing ever more than $50 online. just something to make the games more fun! I usually make a few bills each year- nothing to quit my day job.

I hold my own at poker just never have had a good enough bankroll to play in real events that have an actual pay day. I was a regular at the $35 & $55 tourneys at Riverside (I sat next to hlas once, great guy). the $2/$5 no-limit game is pretty lush their too if you can spare a nickel to sit (i always got there 2-3 hours into the game and people could have 1-2k+ stacks, and open the pot with $20-$50.)

now that I live in the state that invented the game, I'm 2 hours from Winstar in OK, the closest casino.

a guy in my poker group won the first heartland poker tour event at mesquaki. lucky bastard. he was probably the third or fourth best in our group, he just had a bankroll.

I didn't think they would have a pic of it still, here's Fish in the middle pic on this screen holding his winnings, sporting the hawks too!

What sports do you normally bet on? Just college football?

EPL (English Premier League Soccer) and nominally on baseball. I was lucky enough to ride the Mavs in the NBA playoffs. but yes, just football. my weeks fly by with researching and reading. makes Saturday's so much better than without it.

Yes normally I have money on the ESPN2 EPL game of the week early Saturday morning, then throughout the day usually till the last game, normally Hawaii or PAC-10 school.

That's cool. I've come out about even on college football the last couple of years, I make too many bets on weekday games I know nothing about just because I want to have a team to root for.

I'm terrible at betting on the NFL. I've done the best by far with college basketball. I got really into betting on Missouri Valley games last year and had a real nice run with that.

I'm gonna use a system that I have seen done before using what I think is my best wager tomorrow. By using one of my best bets as sort of an amplifier. what follows may come off as a little "homer-ish" but a lot of people out there are agreeing that Iowa will easily cover, meaning even some national pundits/betting enthusiasts. I, too, am very confident of this. so confident in fact I will amplify my other plays by parlaying them with Iowa. risky, but worth it for the payoff.

I will give you the actual plays when I lock them in, I'm too busy enjoying my FIU play

Best strategy i've figured out for the NFL is find some games/teams you really like and bet the other way. NFL is really tough, u hit 55% and you're a god.

Yeah, it is incredibly tough. I'm trying not to bet at all on the NFL this year, but we'll see how long that lasts.

I really think the best way to make money gambling is on college basketball. Pick a smaller conference and watch a ton of games until you get a good feel for a lot of the teams. You're probably never going to know more about NFL teams than the oddsmakers but I think you can in college basketball, especially with the smaller conferences.
