Explain how having an enept qb they paid $2 million for, undisciplined team, poor recruiting, etc etc, doesn't fall on Kirk's head?
 








Wouldn’t be surprised if Kirk demanded that third down run. Unbelievable.
You paid two mil for a guy and you have little confidence in his arm and ability to make quick decisions.

1- Gron is Not inept. He's the best QB Iowa has had in at least 5 years.
2- This offense is the best - especially OL - Iowa has had in 5-7 years.
3- Kirk has let the O go with opportune plays.
4 - They have simply missed executing by literally mm (see fumble last week, toenail out today, goofy special teams flubs) this year vs miles in last 5-7 years.
5- This D is NOT "Iowa" D of past decade. They can't defend pass, usually break and have missed SO MANY ankle tackles (see Indiana, Oregon and today) that my head hurts!
I'm a HUGE Kirk critic (15 years and running) but this seasons losses ain't on him.
 


I'm sure that the fire Ferentz people around the state won't understand this, but that was a helluva coaching job to keep this team within 5 points of USC. Not just today or this week, but how the teams have been developed from the time the guys on both teams came out of high school.

How many positions did we have better athletes than them? Not players, but athletes. They take their 4/5 star guys, coach them, and throw them out there and watch them make plays. We take our guys, coach them up to fit our scheme, and win a lot of games.

Iowa starts off like wild men. Blitzing, big hits, big runs and hell a WR pass to QB for a TD.
Up double digits at half.
Kirk does what Kirk does. Plays not to lose plays ultra conservative. Result, another lose against a ranked team…..

NO! As a HUGE KF go away guy (for YEARS) he did not play to lose. If anything, this is a season when he shoulda milk toast run MORE with this OL ( Best in several seasons) but he gambled on trick plays and QB fakes/keeps!
It's been a season of, literally, mm and really unusual special teams and D breakdowns ... The blocked FG vs Indy, the safety on punt snaps last week ... and the D!
Last week, simply track the ball and knock it away on the beauty pass by Ducks to get to fg range.
All the horrible missed ankle tackles ( Indy pass on sideline, today - too many to count ...)
Agree with previous... Coaches have done STELLLAR job but execution ( with exception of today's flip / pass quick to Gron) has just fallen short.
If ever "That's football" had applied, it's this season.
Now, previous 5-7 years, no! Bad coaching. This year ... It's actually been pretty damn good!

Just put my shepherds pie in the oven. GF’s favorite thing I make, maybe she’ll get frisky later.

She hates to cook and I love to so it helped early on before she realized I’m built like 90s Jesse Ventura with a Ryan Reynolds face and the personality of Dan Connor from Roseanne.

MY POINT! You are ragging on now. I don't disagree last 5-7 but ur bitching doesn't apply this year.
Gotta see here and now. This year is on players - weird spec teams, sub-par D and mm misses - not coaches!
