Damn it Dean you beat me to it - I like this one better

I dunno how I feel about all 2 B1G games before we play ISU - but at least the team will be tested and hopefully ready

That's really weird to play 2 conference games and not play another for a month. Is that a one time only thing (hopefully) to accommodate the conference tournament, or could it happen again? Don't like that or the 2 week layoff between the conference tournament and the NCAA tournament. Not a fan of either.

In the conference's infinite wisdom to play the B1G Tournament at Madison Square Garden, it will be a week earlier this year. The Big East has it the week when we'd normally play it. That's why there are earlier B1G games. They need to finish the regular season a week earlier than normal.

And I'm assuming (hoping) this is a one time only thing, as of now? Horrible idea.

OK, I was going to make the same statement about breaking up the B1G schedule. Wow, this is weird. All schools doing this? Well, trading off being the final championship game for playing in MSG? I guess. But that's a pretty big give up, if you ask me. I'll all for it if it helps recruiting.

Maybe I missed something. Are there really 15 non-con games? I thought there were only 13.

GO HAWKS!!!

Yikes....that non con is straight trash

KenPom ratings of Iowa's 6 home non-cons:

Chicago St (335)
Alabama St (342)
Grambling St (327)
Southern (326)
So. Utah (333)
NIU (205)

Penn state, @indiana and @iowa state all within 6 days in early December. That is terrible scheduling.

I think those stupid B1G games in Dec. kind of force some bad scheduling early.

3 Neutral site tournament games, then @Virginia Tech, Penn St., @Indiana, @iowa St. That is 7 games in 17 days with travel to the Caymen islands, Virginia Tech, Indiana, and Iowa St. All these games take place between Nov 20th and Dec. 7th. That is a tough, tough stretch, with a lot of travel.

Now I will say I HATE, HATE, HATE seeing so many 300+ teams, that sucks for RPI and will really drag us down.

Wow. I thought it was a bad idea to move the B1G tourney away from Chicago and Indy but this really makes it look stupid. It will be interesting to see what the attendance is in NYC. I know they want to increase the exposure to the Northeast but let's be real. They may have to give tickets away to get fannies in the seats. With the Chicago/Indy location, 80% of B1G fan base was within a 6 hour drive to attend a session or two. I don't see many Penn State or Rutgers fans taking the trip to NYC. I will be watching from the comforts of the man cave this year.

20 wins definitely not getting us in the tourney. Might even need 22.

It depends who those 20 wins are against and what Iowa does in the B1G. They can't afford to lose any gimmes this season like UNO. The only upside to this bad rpi schedule is that they don't have any game in the OOC even comparable (ie a team hovering around top 150 RPI) that could bite us. That stretch at the beginning of Dec is brutal - I am sure all the coaches in the B1G are pissed.

Probably a good thing we have the depth that we do!

I see the floor as 20 wins - there will be room for more - and also the BTT. Last year 19 wins with a loss to UNO was 1 game short of making The Dance. The B1G will be considered a much stronger RPI and conference this season.
