At some point some of their fans have do a closer analysis and realize that Iowa is for real. I understand that opinion from B1G outsiders, but from a fan inside the big ten, I question their fandom. Every conference game W is earned.

If any team in the West can point at schedule, it's Minnesota who drew Michigan and Ohio St. But I don't understand how you can say that the identical division is any weaker or stronger than the schedule you play.
When you realize that the Hawks have the role of the bad guy, this season becomes much more enjoyable. There is no glass slipper for this team awaiting in Indy. There is no story for the new dean of coaches getting his Hickory High School run. Just tip your black hat and smirk when we win.

espn has done a fantastic job brainwashing all of the USA. There isn't any fan base in the BIG that can form their own opinions. The whole who have they played is getting pretty worn out. Out of all our recent games, I'm most confident about this one. Like a heavyweight boxer we beat them up round after round whrn we could knock them out if we wanted to. We do it to punish them.

I'll rejoice after our win Saturday for sure but can't help but feel a little sorry for a team named the Golden Gophers. Why in the heck would you ever name a team that way? It was a bad decision, and they decided to just live with it??????

Anyone who thinks this is the same Iowa team as last year is a moron. This defense is championship level and is exponentially better than last year's. The offense may not "explosive" according to the "experts" but it gets the job done and the running game/CJB have both been great. This is in no way the same team as last year and I would be surprised if Minnesota scores more than 10 and shocked if they score more than 14.

Gopher fans are an interesting lot. They save their "hate week" for Iowa? I look at minny like I do a speed bump in a parking lot. A minor inconvenience to be quickly driven over and forgotten. I wouldn't waste a week's worth of hate on the gophers.

Gopher fans like to harken back to 2014 when they just crushed Iowa. But remember in 2013 when Iowa crushed Minnesota? The previous year doesn't mean sh*t.
Minnesota has hung with Michigan (should have beaten) and Ohio State, and that means something. However they also got shutout by NW and only put up 10 points at home against Kent State. They're a strange team. If Iowa can jump out early and do what they did against Maryland, they'll be fine. I'd like to see Iowa run up the score though and win by 30

Its really weird the Gopher obsession with Iowa. They should be rivals with Wisconsin, but the fans chant "we hate Iowa" even during games where they aren't playing against Iowa. Its almost another Iowa State "little brother" thing at this point.
My guess is they're so used to the Badgers just kicking the sh*t out of them in everything that they had to change rivals to a team they can actually occasionally beat in football/basketball.
Plus we tore down their goalposts and had sex in their bathroom. Probably didnt help
