2015 is the Hawkeyes year!

Jake is back with 2 great years under his belt. Fast speedy running backs, the most talented bunch of WRs we've had in years and with BF, you can bet they hawks will field an outstanding OLine as always. When is Iowa ever good when they are expected?? The peices are there and they will shock the pundits and us as well.

you heard it here first folx. Pay no attention to whats going on here and there. Have faith!!

No heard it hear second. .. lol. I've already commented on this. . :)

Ha, tell me about it. Black Friday was day 5 for me not smoking. Had to stop and get an e-cig after that ending though. Thought my wife was going to give me crap, but I think she understood and let me be....

Thanks K.F.!! Killing our program wasn't enough, now you are literally killing our fans. Wonder what bonuses are built in to his lifelong contract for actually killing us?

Is Macon Plewa returning? Maybe he'll be starting RB. Jokes aside, RB is one of the few areas where you can make a rational argument that we should be better (and that's NOT a dig on Weisman, he is what he is and the coaches put him in that position through game time decision making and recruiting efforts over the last 3 years). You can hope we'll be better in other areas but I don't see a rational argument for that.

Kirk Ferentz theme song should be 'Killing me softly'

Strumming my pain with his fingers,
Singing my life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song, that's football
Killing me softly with his song, snort
Telling my whole life with his words, that's ebb and flow
Killing me softly with his song.Snort

It's been almost 11 months for me, but jeezuz man....I might start again...ha ha....

another one bite's the dust!
See K.F....two fans now w/ one foot in the grave. When will this genocide cease?

Ha! Yeah I finished off my e-cig Friday, but I'm back on the wagon to recovery...I think;) Good thing I did quit before the Nebby game, probably would smoked a pack.

I've quit off and on for many years....I figured it's time for good (maybe I need to root for and watch a team that wins) ;)...it's all good, but damn man, these Hawks are killin me....and w/out the smokes....

Well.....I picked the wrong year to quit smoking....Damn, I hope 2015 is better than 2014.....:)

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking!

Good job to both of you folks for quitting smoking.

It probably doesn't seem like it (especially given last bball and this football season), but you're doing the right thing.

I've been done for just over 13 years, all because my wife made it pretty clear to me that I wasn't going to be smoking when we bring a kid into this world.

May you continue to find a less-nagging type of inspiration.

I was attempting to cut back, but after the game, the wife and I went out to World of Beer, drank, and smoked like chimneys.... Great! Maybe now that football season is over, I can quit.

Wooops, there's still basketball season to contend with. Ok, maybe this spring..

My poor wife (who doesn't like sports) had to listen to me vent for a while, lol. It was a fun evening, though. I'm sure it would've been a riot with some of you guys there. :)

I like a few drinks here and there, don't get me wrong, but liquor I can basically take or leave. Smoking has always been my vice. Managed to quit for something like 6-7 years and was stupid enough to start again. It's on my radar to quit, though. Just gotta prep myself mentally and then do it.

I hear you on the weight gain. Booze will do that to ya (especially the hard stuff). I shed about 25 pounds lately, and most of that came from drinking over the years. Creeps up on ya.

1977...best of luck to you and yours... and here's to 2015 being better than 2014 in alot of different ways....

The best inspiration I've had is I calculated and wrote out how much money I spend a week, a month, a year. The numbers actually made me kind of sick when I looked at them. They're now burned into my head and lets just say it's enough to take a nice long vacation to Florida every year. No kids yet but I'll be ready for that too!

Kirk would suggest you hit the brakes on that thinking....

"You never know what’s going to happen; you take it a week at a time. Circumstances change, your team changes, injuries, all those things that can take place, so that’s what makes it interesting. That’s sports. But I think as we all know, there are twists and turns that go on in any season. That’s football. There’s ebb and flow."

When I read that quote I can't help but thinking "what injuries did we have?" Lashaun didn't get hurt til 4 weeks ago but then again he wasn't seeing the field anyway (even though he should have). Just more mind boggling from our fearless headsman.

That was just Kirk speaking in good ole generalities which is how he answers every question. He'd probably tell you about all the camp injuries that slowed development...so on and so forth.

During the year Iowa had at least, 3 running backs, 2 full backs, 2 offensive lineman, 2 wide receivers, 1 defensive tackle, and 1 linebacker all injured.
