What The F Is Wrong With Connor McCaffery?

Geesus, have you ever encountered a more thin-skinned clan than the McCaffery's. Connor played all four years at Iowa, given an opportunity, his dad was able to make generational $$$$ from Iowa and he acts like a little petulant bitch. Unreal. He obviously is keeping CC from commenting on the men's Iowa run in the NCAA. She's the most decorated female athlete representing Iowa and he's gunna have a say in what she does and derail her relationship with Iowa.

Now, I have heard from the Two Guys named Chris podcast that Connor had the gull to call up his buddy at Bar Stool that he knows and asked to speak to Dave Portnoy. His buddy in the past after any Iowa loss had commented .... paraphrase "See Iowa, the grass is not always greener on the other side., etc.". Now Connor called his buddy and asked to speak to Dave Portnoy at Bar School. Connor had the gull to comment to Dave about him making positive comments at Bar Stool about Iowa's run in the NCAA and asked if he would not anymore. WTF!

Connor, you ungrateful petulant child.

I look forward to listening to their pod later today. Yeah CM is a bitch that's just what he is. A kid that was born on 3rd base and thought he hit a home run. I used to stick up for him when he was a Hawk. He didn't live up to his 4 star ranking obviously but he did provide a role he was good at. But now he's gone off the rails. I think he's tweeted 3 or 4 times about Iowa negatively since his dad was fired. And now the whole Portnoy call thing. So you factor in Clark just ignoring Iowas run all and yeah... This whole thing sucks.

Notice how Patrick hasn't put himself out there like Connor. Of the two I woulda thought it woulda been the other way around. Patrick always seemed like the immature loosy goosy free spirited one. I'm sure he feels all but the same way as Connor about it all but at least he's not being a dick to Iowa fans.

I don't have one problem with them being butt hurt over Daddy getting fired. That's a personal thing sure I get it. It's the going at Iowa fans part that tips it over the line for me. It's unnecessary and what's it accomplish besides burning bridges? Maybe that's his intent if so mission accomplished. But now that he's still in Caitlins ear it's affecting her. And that's not cool cause now long time fans of hers are going to sour on her. She's so big now she clearly doesn't need to care. It won't affect her if she doesn't want it to. But now she's making choices I don't think she would. She didn't come back for a single WOMANS game this yr when Kate, Gabbie and others did.

This is exactly where I'm living.

Here's the deal on the hiring of McCollum. Fran hit a ceiling in the NCAA of getting to round 32 but could not advance. You hire McCollum and you are going to get at least that as a low bar with a much higher ceiling as was proven this year, in year one. The tournament ceiling run is at a better place now.

If I got the opportunity to speak to Connor I would point out most fans, including me, appreciated what Fran did for the program and style of play. Well, except the lack of defense. I would point out the above about the ceiling and the fact that fans just weren't going anymore and apathy set in. That comes with most coaches who stay at one school for over 10 years. Look at most coaches, they move on, even the high profile coaches. Pitino, Barnes, etc. Not many are at a school for 16 seasons. It's just the way it is in college basketball.
 
What this has all exposed is that Caitlin is not a strong, independent woman, and that is what is truly disappointing. Connor can be a petulant brat, but the fact that someone little girls want to emulate has now shown she's a kept woman incapable of asserting her independence is the real problem.

Yeah the firing of Fran had to be done. He was on the hot seat before the season even started. It wasn't some huge shocking surprise when it happened. If anything Beth coulda let him go sooner during the season when it'd already been obvious he wasn't going to survive. But she let him finish out the BIG tourny first and I think it was the Monday after the tourny she did it.

Yeah if a coach is going to be at one job for north of 10-15 yrs then they gotta be doing 2 things. Winning in the post season consistently and have fans in the stands bringing in $.... His last few yrs he was doing neither. It wasn't like he had a bunch of boosters in his corner and a huge NIL pot stockpiled up. The arguments Fran and family had for thinking they shouldn't have been fired are mute to those two things. It is a business at the end of the day and Iowa was falling. Their wasn't a path for him to recover frankly.

Connor knows all of that. He's not an idiot nor oblivious to it. He just doesn't care to factor it in. That's where the immature child in him comes out. He thinks the world revolves around them. Well no Connor it doesn't Iowa's bigger than the McCafferys. And if he breaks up with Caitlin and can't get another cushy assistant coaching job somewhere he'd find that out the hard way. But I doubt that's going to happen...

Nobody is asking anything of Connor besides not openly bashing the program and our fans. The younger brothers don't. So him choosing to do so multiple times means he's yearning to be heard and responded to. So that makes it fair game for fans to have their two cents on it sent back to him.

Caitlin is a big girl her she's making her own decisions. So if she wants to play things this way and try to have her cake and eat it too then we'll just see how that plays out.

I do believe she is making millions


Later on in the video, SirCharles has a lot to say about folk, especially women talking
nasty about Caitlin

I don't have the time or state of mind to consider anything Connor does now

I did appreciate his passing skills while playing for the Hawks

Connor seems like a little bitch

Yea but nobody is really talking about or dissing on his dad. Most are at a place where he was appreciated but Iowa had to move on, IMO. You aren't seeing Patrick or Jack out there posting neg comments or calling up Dave Portnoy. For some reason, Connor just has to keep poking the bear.

I care more about what CC says, she's the face of womens basketball. I think she's trying to take the high road by staying out of the drama between Iowa and the McCaffery's. Again she's put herself in the awkward position of dating a former player who's dad got fired from Iowa.

What Connor says or does I just don't care, he's making himself look stupid by playing the role of the butthurt son who's dad got fired. I do get why he feels his dad got disrespected, Fran did work hard to dig Iowa out of the mess Alford & Lick put the program in. I can see why he quickly gets defensive seeing people in the media trash what Fran did while applauding McCallum. Calling into Portney's podcast isn't a good look for him even though I do understand where he is coming from.

I'm going to go a step farther and say the CC can eat shit too if that's how she rolls.

There. I said that about you Iowa WBB fans' golden girl.

Just because she's a really good basketball player at a school I've cheered for way longer than she's been alive doesn't mean I have to like or appreciate her if she's gonna be all douchey like her boyfriend. Looks like she got too big city for the Hawks now. That's ok though, I don't expect a silver spoon Dowling product to be real down-to-earth anyway.

I don't. You can show support for where you came from and the fans that made you what you were and have a different viewpoint than your partner at the same time. If he doesn't understand it it's his deal. She ain't a kept woman and while he's living off daddy's money (that came from Iowa) she's making bazillions that will also support him.

That's the thing, Connor got everything he has and ever will have from his dad and his girlfriend. He's a literal nothing burger. And if it's a deal where she truly does hate Iowa now because of how her future father in law got treated, well...CC can suck a fart out of my ass. Iowa sports don't belong to the McCaffery's or the Clarks. It was here before they got here...it'll be here when they're gone.

Face of women's basketball or not, if she's the Hawkeye she claims to be to not even say a simple congrats to Iowa after the best season in Hawks history tells me all I need to know. Her boyfriend would get mad? Well that also tells me what I need to know if she picks an Iowa hating douche bag to cohabitate with.

No harm, no foul though, everyone has their opinion. I can also choose to like someone or not. She doesn't care what I or any of us think, though, she's got Prada commercials to film.
