What happened with the rebounding vs Illini

Did the hawks just not play good box out positioning? Looking at the box score the rebounding disparity really stood out.

A lot of long rebounds, Kofi was able to knock out several that we were in position to good, poor boxing out - a lot of different things

Small team vs bigger team trying to rebound out of the zone...long rebounds trying to track down.

It was deflating because Iowa played some great lock down defense at times the other night, just to give up the rebound and have to do it again.

I watched the game the next day, and in fairness (kind of) to the Hawks, there were a bunch of long bounces and the ball was flying all over the place.

but it doesn't account for 52 - 23.

The lack of 3 second calls helped the Illini too, they never had to move away from that 5' circle around the hoop

It's a miracle the game was as close as it was due to it... Had we made half the FTs we missed and hit one more 3 it'd have been a different game. The FT discrepancy was huge in this one... Half our guys were in foul trouble.

Does anyone else here think Ferbrcha (sp) and Conner should not be shooting at all?...
hes 6ft 9 and plays way to timid... no mean streak or power against the big boys!!

Some was bad bounces. Some was no boxing out. Some was Cockburn pushing people around. A lot of it was all of our guys go for the block and there is no one to rebound.
