Going out for supper with the missus and her mom tomorrow night so I told her this morning, "We can watch the Hawks game recorded when we get home and ffwd through halftime and commercials..."

Then I looked and saw it tips at 10PM central. Judas Priest, man...we're gonna be up past friggin midnight. I'm old, for god's sake...I normally go to bed a little after 8:00.

They can't compromise and start the game at 7:00 their time?
 
As Chad Leistikow put it on his podcast, welcome to the Big 10. But I agree, pushing the boundaries to too late, IMO. I hope the players have adjusted as it will feel like a midnight tip to them.
 
We knew this was going to happen when we expanded to the Big10 West West. It sucks. But, we all know what is driving the chuck wagon. $$$$
 
I’m out. I’m not going to record it. I will do the “highlights/boxscore/ message board” thing, and call it good. I will get all my information from that. I’m too f*cking old to function on only 4 hours sleep anymore.

My YTTV is set to record all Big Ten sporting events so I’ll watch it until I fall asleep and finish up Thursday if needed. I haven’t missed any b-ball in the Run BMC era yet

All they’d need to do is make a rule that if a game is more than a two time zone gap they split the difference. I get that the home team wants the advantage, but that same team will also be traveling themselves too at some point.

I have another 10+ years that I need to still be employed. I don’t quite have it the way some of you do…so, yeah, I have to be in bed by 10, in early February, on a Wednesday.

Correction, it will be like a 10 p.m. tipoff to our players. But it will end midnight.

That is my dilemma. If I record it…it will be a ho-hum 73-60, Iowa victory. If I don’t record it…it will be a “ Stirtz goes off for 40,” triple overtime classic.

Better just be safe then. I went in and set every Big Ten event to record and it gets every sport. Unfortunately I also get flooded with WBB in my library which muddies things up. I respect the sport but it's not exciting to me.

Perhaps I should have read the rest of this thread prior to making a response as someone prob pointed out the same. It's all about the TV timeslots. The BIG runs a triple header of games on Wednesdays so has a west coast game last.
