Was that last loss on the coach??

My thoughts on it was...... it was a huge gut punch. Coach and team thought it was in the bag before tip off. Lack Lack luster both ends of the court (other than Kochs first half) and Ben kind of just let it happen without butt chewing time outs and meaningful adjustments . Sometimes the coach has just got to take the blame. Saw interview after and he wasn't putting this on himself, kind of just saying some changes need to be made on playing time and concentration. said they had a great scouting report.. did they ? I'm totally a fan of BM but where does the Buck stop . Just wondering if anyone else saw it that way too.

Coach didn't miss those shots at the end.

I don't agree that the team or the coaches took PSU lightly. Winning a game on the road, on the East Coast, on short rest, is a tough order. Iowa is not overly talented and has a smaller margin for error than a lot of middle of the pack teams. IMHO, Iowa has played above its weight class most of this season, and because of that, there has been a regression to the mean for a couple of games (PSU, Minnesota). Upsets happen. That's why they play the game.

Ben took the blame for the loss, but sometimes a loss is just a loss. Iowa had opportunities. The shots just did not drop. It happens.

That all said, I think Ben can do better on his rotations and minutes. I don't believe Iowa can advance much in either tournament without taking a few chances playing their offensive bench guys. My two cents.

Didn't rebound the ball and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. That's not on BMC.

I definitely know BCM didn't miss the baskets. but it just seemed like, ok we are 3 to 5 down which we are a lot of games especially against really good teams if not more , Ok We'll make a Stirtz run here sometime and get back ahead... kind of lack luster and Bennet wasn't on or was guarded well and it didn't happen. This shouldn't happen against a team like Penn State in late February.( that was Frans biggest weakness) There was no urgency even down to last time trying to get ball in to me thats on coach not knocking him just thought game could have been coached with more intensity I've been around long enough to know its gonna happen quite often ,and there is a time when coach takes the fall for the game effort
