Former St. Petersburg Northeast running back Jeff Brinson, who is transferring after two years at Iowa, has seen less interest from USF coaches and now has Central Florida as his top choice, according to the high school coach handling his recruitment.

"I would say he's very excited, and (UCF) is very interested," said Ken Crawford, a former Northeast assistant coach who now is on the staff at Pinellas Park. "It's going to come down to compliance."

At first glance I thought this title was about Brinson leaving football for MMA.

If Brinson had been healthy, who knows what heights he'd be at as a Hawkeye right now. I remember the fb staff being pretty jacked up about this guy. Timing and luck (or bad luck- with injuries and health) can be everything.

Yeah I kinda feel bad for the guy, with the transfer year, it's going to be basically three entire seasons before he gets a chance to see the field.
