I know this guy is an SEC homer, but is he really that pretentious to think Big Ten expansion is about Jim Delaney getting one up on the SEC? This is about the Big Ten taking care of itself. It would have been much more accurate to say it's the Big Ten vs. Everyone else, but really I think this is just about the Big Ten looking out for itself.

When you’re reading all of these expansion stories and projections remember that at the end of the day it is about only one thing: The SEC vs. The Big Ten. Everything else is just conversation.

Would mega-expansion get us closer to a playoff? I don’t think so | Mr. College Football

You're both right. He is about taking care of the Big 10, and by "taking care" he means getting as big of a share of the pie as possible. The SEC is the only legitimite contender for that money. The Big 10 is Pepsi, and the SEC is Coke, and they are competeing for the same huge piece of market.

If Delany has any brain, of course he is trying to take market share from the SEC. That means more $$$ for the Big 10.
