Tom Izzo must not be a fan of Fran

I believe this was discussed after we beat them in Iowa City but tonight was just the icing on the cake. Up 20+ with under 5 to go and your starters are still in the game? Stay classy Izz, stay classy.

With as out of whack as they've been, I'm sure Izzo is desperate to get this team clicking (or at least close to it) before the BTT.

this is the answer.

That'd sound good except I do remember he had a quote about letting Lick go like it was some crime. Lick was obviously not getting the job done here. Everybody with half a brain knew that...most coaches simply wouldn't say anything in that situation.

Don't know if he liked having an easy win on the schedule or what but it makes it interesting.

Coaches will stand up for each other, unless they are bitter rivals. Everybody loves a loser.

We are a 10 days before post season tournaments.

And your point is? We're talking about Michigan State. If they can make a run in the BTT, I don't see any way they don't make it to the Big Dance. But without that run, they're pushing it. Like I said, Izzo has got to be desperate at this point.

I apologize if I misinterpreted your post.

Sorry i should have added another paragraph that went something like this:

We are 10 days before the Big Ten tournament. Izzo is going to make sure that his guys are in shape and running the plays right before than

I thought maybe that's what you meant. But it also would make a little sense to argue that it's too little, too late for MSU at this point, which is what I took from it.

Also, MSU needed to impress the selection committee that they could still blow out somebody at the end of the season.

And this was Senior Night; I'm assuming he wanted to let his seniors play as long as possible on their last night in Breslin, then kiss the floor as they left.

I don't think this was meant to rub Fran's nose in it.

Iowa did blow them out by 20 when they played, I imagine that would be some motivation for returning the favor. If nothing else to make one of their "bad losses" on their tournament resume seem more like an aberration.

I read nothing into that. The post season is right around the corner and MSU will probably be in one of the tourny's. I'm glad he left them in. How many did we lose by?

Izzo was kicking Lick's a$$ up and down the court for 3 years so I'd be a little pi$$ed to see him go too.

Here's a thought, maybe instead of complaining that the other team kept thier starters in despite a 20 point lead we should just try not to be 20 points down with 5 to play.

Good Point Duff, I'd be more upset if our starters were in...

I didn't see the final minutes of the game

I thought Izzo's postgame comment about giving Lick the credit after the first game was BS, but I don't have a problem with running up the score at any level above High-School.

Uh that was Tom Crean. Unless Izzo said it also and I missed it.
