This team better man up Saturday

With it being senior day for one of the hardest working players that has come through IC in a long time, I hope the rest of the team sucks it up and puts on a command performance. Cole has been deprived of playing on good teams, has not seen the postseason and has tasted an upset vicotry only a handful of times in 4 years. IMO this team needs to step up and get mentally tough Saturday out of respect for Cole and bring it from start to finish. I would love to see Cole go out on a winning note and alhtough it is unlikely, it is possible and this team better leave it on the floor tomorrow. If it turns into another circus act in the second half, I am really going to question the heart of these kids.

I think everyone has accepted the fact that we're not going to win this game and that it may be a slaughter. You better do the same or you wont like the end result.

Circus act? We missed 11 free throws and were 0-12 from the arc...I doubt they wanted to miss those...still think the effort was ok,and if we make a reasonable number of those shots we are in single digits vs MSU on the road,which is rare for Iowa in EL in recent years.

Put it this way, you are expecting Iowa to come up with a strong emotional effort to send out their 3 year captain in a blaze of glory....well, what do you think the MSU players were trying to do with their superstar Lucas and Summers the other nite? Same deal. I expect our guys to play their guts out,but Purdue has won like 12 games in a row,and are about the hottest team in the country,ranked #6...so losing to them will not be an indication of bad effort by the Hawks,only superior talent by the Boilers. Still, I agree....lets shock the world and upset Purdues title hopes..afterall,they are our new ''rival'' as dictated by Jim Delany...lol.
