Thank you Jared Cole

It wasn't the way you wanted to go out...but I can say that I firmly believe you are going to be looked at as one of the key players that stuck through it all and was a true Hawkeye. And was a key piece in the turnaround and return of this program when it is all said and done.

Thanks for being a true Hawkeye and an AMAZING representative for the University of Iowa. Best of luck in whatever future endeavor you choose, we're all pulling for you!

WOW I SPELLED HIS NAME WRONG
I realized it as I was posting...and tried to edit...is there a way to do this? I feel horrid.

I thought it was impressive how Dakich and the other ESPN announcer were talking about how impressed Jamie Pollard (who for the record I despise) was with what Cole did up in Ames this week that he wrote Barta and said what a great young man and representative of the University he was and how inspiring the message he delivered to those kids was. Jarryd will be sorely missed for his leadership and character. A great Hawkeye and an even greater young man. His family must be so proud of him. Thanks Jarryd!!

I am not one to post a lot but feel I have to on this one. An all time GREAT hawkeye Jarryd Cole. Sometimes hawks aren't measured by points, rebounds, touchdowns, sacks. Cole has been a great leader and could have left SO many times. We are sometimes quick to rip on those that leave( heck Jake lost his mom and some questioned him). But Jarryd should praised and celebrated for staying and being a true Hawkeye! Thank you Jarryd. You will be missed!

A true student athlete and ambassador for the game. I lived in KC when Cole was in high school and was stoaked when signed with Iowa. His knee injury really took his explosiveness away, but he battled through and learned how to use body control to get shots off. I agree that Cole has been the solid rock for 4 years...hopefully his work ethic will rub off on Basabe and others. I really hope McCaffrey finds a spot for him as a graduate assistant if Cole is so inclined. Can you imagine this guy as a recruiter in a couple of years?

Thanks for posting this! Thank you JC! Good luck in whatever you choose to do! Your work ethic could teach us all a lot.

I started a thread on this earlier, but it was great, he was very honest and he knows bball isn't life and portrayed it to the kids. Very touching and impressive especially since it was about 18 hours after they beat Purdue.

I wish we had Jarryd for one more year. You always need a Jarryd Cole on your team. He's one of the most respected Hawks in the last 10-15 years (respected by his teammates).

Can anybody imagine just how special he could have been had he not gotten hurt his freshman year? He was a totally different player after that.

What a wonderful last half of the season by Cole. He really stepped it up and showed his teammates how to go out as a senior. I sincerely hope he has a role to play in this organization as I can't say enough about his work ethic and integrity. Thank you Jaryd Cole :)
