"Please I say Please give me * mill a year to coach, recruit and say statements that qualify as "DUH". He has become worthless to the University of ****. His time has passed him by. I thank him for his tenure but time to golf the rest of your life. 14-16 yrs is the norm before they burn out and not try so hard anymore. The laziness starts with recruiting and it has shown the last 4-6 yrs. Avg classes at best. I bet he was way more involved at his start at **. Not so much anymore. I hate to say it but today's game has passed him by... He is so stubborn and will not make any changes and fall even further behind with his lousy offense and terrible recruiting....Not anything new recently to lose in state players since ** has fallen so much. Change needs to happen. Change needs to happen and soon before its too late..."

and this...

"while you are spot on----------i see no change coming since ** has gotten extended for several more years..."

You can find the quotes here:

Scout.com: Bob Stoops: We got outplayed, out-coached, and out-executed

Kinda funny, huh?

Hilarious! I spit my coffee on the screen.

It is funny. I'd take Bob Stoops here. I do agree with that first poster that 15 years at one program is probably too much. Stoops shouldn't have the nickname Big Game Bob anymore but he doesn't lose many that he's supposed to win comfortably.

stoops would deliver the same results as Ferentz - up and down.

If stoops was energized I think he would deliver better overall results than KF at Iowa. Stoop's willingness to take chances, go for the jugular, probably a better recruiter and deal closer.

No big surprise here. 15 years in one HC job is a long, long time for anybody. It was pretty obvious the quotes were about Stoops, as obvious as the flawed analogy you were trying to make.

I'd trade coaches with Oklahoma straight up with out a second thought. At least when we lose...we'd lose going for it, instead of playing armadillo.

So let me see here. Stoops gets much, much better recruits, but lately he has become Little Game Bob (he beats everyone he should, but no one at OU's level or ranked higher). Any you all think at Iowa, somehow with lower level recruiting than OU, he's going to turn it around and be better than what we got in KF. Haaa...ahbullshit...chew.

My fear is that he would bring his brother too...god, if I had to watch Mike Stoops whine on the sidelines all game, it would be a horrific day for Iowa Football.

Id rather have a coach with little emotion that quits with 5 mins left. Thats not horrific at all.

Since when is his brother God?

To a large degree, I believe the level of recruit being signed by Iowa, today, is a result of a now flawed/outdated philosphy of taking lightly recruited players and build them up/have them wait their turn. The players with above average talent want "now" playing time. And, if a freshman has better talent than those on the depth chart, he should play in front of those players. That doesn't happen very often and Iowa and it turns more talented players away from the program. And since Iowa has been doing this for so long, it has become a self fulfilling prophecy, to a degree and a vicious circle: you can't get the talent to come to the school because they don't want to sit behind less talented players, but you can't play more talented freshmen because they aren't choosing Iowa. I am not beating a drum for Stoops. This is just in reply to your statement above.

Every fan base hates their coach. Pinkel went from "should be fired" before the season to "idiot who lost the USoC game".
