I guess the guy who predicted 3-5 transfers off this years squad was exactly right.

It makes you wonder who the coaches are bringing in from the portal because right now they got 8 empty spots they could fill.

This is just the way of things in modern sports. Look at ISU. These ladies will have more playing time opportunities at lesser programs.

Iowa should be able to reload from portal without issue. IMHO, the only real loss so far is Deal. Everyone else can be replaced with similar depth.

It was me and it was a lucky guess as I had no idea. Just looked at the roster of who played meaningful minutes and who didn't.

Just hoping the Hawks don't turn into Iowa state with I think 10 in the portal.

Not sure how much it had to do with it, but her boyfriend was killed in a car crash less than 2 weeks ago. With all of her injuries/illnesses and now this, she may be looking for a fresh start, possibly back home to Wisconsin. Total conjecture on my part.

Wow, that's awful. Yeah she may just want to get out of town.

I don't look at her moving on as any kind of loss frankly. I She came in with hope to develop into a role player possibly a starter by her JR/SR yrs and that clearly didn't look to be a possibility. So her leaving to come off the bench somewhere else is totally fine and give us the open spot.

That might be a cold way of looking at it but it is what it is. Iowa isn't trying to just be an ok program that's happy being ranked in the top 15. No we want to break through and win the whole thing. So if the roster needs some purging then so be it

I wonder how it works with NIL now. I know these kids are promised a scholly for 4 years, but what are they promised with NIL? Does that change from year to year, where the amount can go up, down or stay the same?

So like in Mallegni's case, was she offered the same NIL as last year?

She seemed to have so much potential when she arrived on campus with Taylor.

She just seemed to catch bad break after bad break with injuries and illness. To top it off, her longtime boyfriend was just killed in a car accident a couple weeks ago. She has been through Hell, and a fresh start at a new location makes sense.

What a bad deal to try and handle away from home.
