Also the most rebounds and the best returning scorer that had a chance to blossom becoming maybe the go-to guy. Kudos and props to him.
Easy to say we will just replace him and just at what he was doing not what he would up his game to this year esp./mostly points. Love to say we didn't need him or he wasn't anything we won't get out of the guys we have. It will be a nice accomplishment at the end to say we wouldn't have been better with him. It will be a real good season if we can look back and say we didn't miss him at all.
Some in the $$$ business of odds are not convinced yet. You realize that Iowa Football is a better bet than Iowa basketball early on. If we took a poll here I don't think the football team would be the pick more likely to win it all than the basketball team.
The bit of a glue guy he was, probably would average about 15 a game this year with about 5 rebounds and his D(he did have 36 steals last year so 2nd behind BS) and he would not have to fit in more than continue his growth. Let's hope we won't miss what he could have brought to us after already losing BS and Alvaro's numbers. Replacing your probably 3 best players BS and Banks then maybe you can argue Alvara and Cam for third which is close. Not as easy to replace all that and just build on last year as some make it out to be.
Shame about the case settled being so late and the NIL stuff. Would have been nice to just have him back now and get his second year here. To see development and how he did out of the BS shadow. Has always been and will always be better to see guys stay and develop than just be replaced every year. One of the worst aspects of the NIL era to see guys come and go instead of come and grow lol.
