Well it didn't seem like TT was pushing him out but as the heat got hotter they coulda changed their tune the last few days. I lean towards that he was feeling all that pressure and it was getting to him. Thinking ahead to how every road game and media appearance was going to go for him it was going to be a lot... I just think the people around him helped him have some foresight into how this might go and he figured it wouldn't be worth it.
All I'm saying is that once teams started to say they weren't going to play them and talk that the CFP committee might make it tough on them, that's prob when TT thought boy wish we'd never brought him in. I think one would be a bit naive not to think some discussion might have taken place to recommending he move on. Once the $$$$ got involved where it looked like they would lose more than would gain having him, it would be time to move on. All I'm sayin.

That has been confirmed by a few sources. They also believe he has already collected close to half of it through signing bonuses and monthly payments starting from when he signed. Tech's booster/money people have said they won't try to collect it back. Sorsby also faces a lawsuit by Cinci for breaking his contract with them, but that should go away now. (Cinci has its own issues if it new about his gambling and played him anyway. They did).

I have few enemies and generally don't "hate" anybody, but I used to work with a Texas Tech grad that was every bad Texas stereotype combined with small man syndrome. Despise the f*** to this day.
That is what I thought but I have not seen any indication that they are moving forward on something like this, or that it is an option. I sure hope not. The threat of Big12 penalties may have given TT pause.
I know he dismissed his lawsuit, but I have not heard if the Big 12 dismissed its lawsuit in federal court. He doesn't have a whole lot to lose by reinstituting his law suit and fighting for eligibility, but if I am him I stand the lawyers down and either train for a year or look at Canada or other options. Hearing his name more in the news is only going to drop his draft stock next year. Go quiet and work towards next season's draft.
