Jake underthrew Powell and Cotton by maybe 5 yards. Enough for both of them to have to basically stop. But he was a little late getting rid of several other passes (the corner route to KMM immediately springs to mind; that was a damn good ball if it's throw a split second earlier), so maybe it really is more an issue of making the reads a little quicker.
By no means do I think he's got an elite arm, but he can cover that up on his deep balls by making the reads soon enough that he can hit Powell (or whoever) in stride within his arm range. Stanzi was very good at that, which is why he had a very pretty looking deep ball without having a cannon.
