Scheduled visits, interests, rumors...lots of holes in this roster.

It would not shock me if we plucked one or two ISU gals from the burning pile. I don't see anyone besides Crooks as a difference maker, but at this point we need depth as much as anything.

So at this point do most players know where they are going, and the agents are just negotiating the final details of the NIL deal?

Or is the deal already done and they are delaying the announcement to avoid tampering rules?

Or do most players in the portal still dont know where they are headed to?

"HawkeyeReport can confirm that Iowa WBB will host Dani Carnegie (Georgia), Ellie Brueggemann (Lindenwood) and Amari Whiting (Oklahoma State) for portal visits this weekend."

Dani Carnegie (5'9" Soph. G): 33.5 MIN / 17.8 PTS / 5.3 REB / 3.2 AST / 42.7% fg / 35.4%3PT / 83.3% FT
Ellie Brueggemann (5;11" Jr. G): 28.4 MIN / 14.0 PTS / 2.6 REB / 3.1 AST / 49.4% fg / 44.0%3PT / 79.3% FT
Amari Whiting (5'10" Jr. G): 29.1 MIN / 9.6 PTS / 5.9 REB / 2.9 AST / 42.5% fg / 32.1%3PT / 71.6% FT

Carnegie is pretty much the end result of what everyone was hoping Addie Deal would either be early on or woulda been eventually in her career.... I would take Carnegie in a heart beat. Hope Jan offers her the kitchen sink. It'd give us a small back court still but that's alright. But we need another guard that can shoot from outside that can both handle the ball and spread the floor. She cures both those ails. And if they can add Ellie another outside shooter as well more the merrier.

Agree that Carnegie has some impressive stats, especially for playing at an SEC school and just a sophomore (Is that her class last year or for the upcoming year?).

But yeah, wish she was just a little taller.

Some additional info on Carnegie

This is the second consecutive year Carnegie has entered the transfer portal, as she did so in 2025 after spending her freshman season at Georgia Tech. That Georgia Tech season is notable for Iowa's chances in this transfer portal recruitment, too.

During her freshman campaign with the Yellow Jackets, Carnegie played with current Iowa point guard Chit-Chat Wright and under Iowa assistant coach LaSondra Barrett.

It will be interesting what route Ellie Brueggemann chooses since it will be her senior season. Will she go for the most NIL? the most playing time? or will she choose a reserve role on a potential elite 8 team or maybe even a national title contender?

Hawkeyes Wire lists all three of those guards as on campus visits. Would they have them all on campus the same weekend? Seems like an odd strategy to me unless it's the only time they can come.

...per Kyle Huesman: Lindenwood transfer Ellie Brueggemann will no longer be in Iowa City this weekend. Would assume this means she's closing in on a decision.

I will be amazed if Jan pulls in anybody of great value. Don't think we see it happen this year.

I know Iowa WBB's NIL spending level is pretty high, which should help in recruiting portal talent. It will be interesting to see how Iowa does compared to that tier1 level of Texas, South Carolina, UConn, etc.

It will also be interesting to see if Iowa can get Dani Carnegie, who sounds like an ideal fit for Iowa and is rated the #8 player available.

If Jan can get Carnegie, then after that it just becomes a matter of Iowa bringing in more bench help and maybe some senior leadership. This is where Brugerman would have helped, but I guess she wanted to stay in her home state of Oklahoma, which makes sense.

If Jan pulls in Carnegie I'll breathe a sigh of relief. Fingers and toes are crossed.

Yeah, Carnegie would be a huge get. Especially if Iowa can get her for both of her final 2 years. She would definitely start for Iowa with All Big Ten potential. Similar in impact to Iowa getting Lucy Olson 2 years ago. Although Olson and Carnegie don't have identical skill sets, but they both are pretty good guards.

One thing that does concern me is that Carnrgie seemed to disappear in a couple of big games this season.

@Tex on Feb26, she scored only 3 points and was 0-5 from 3 point range

And in the NCAA tourney in Iowa City, Georgia lost in OT to Virginia. Carnegie scored only 8 points in 43 minutes of play, going 0-7 from 3 point range.

So as impressive as Carnegie is, she is human and occasionaly has an off game. So if Iowa signs Carnegie, Iowa would still need to sign a couple more shooters to support her, especially during her off games.

I have no idea if she's on the radar, but I'd still highly recommend that they gauge Addy Brown's interest and NIL market. I believe she only has a year remaining, but she's a solid player with a wide skillset. I liken her to a taller, longer Kate Martin, that plays with intensity.

Addy Brown could be with the Oklahoma Sooners. According to Talia Goodman of On3, the 6-foot-2 junior guard has already set up a visit to Norman, but the Sooners aren’t the only Power Conference team pursuing her.

Goodman added that their SEC rivals, the Vanderbilt Commodores, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, have also set up dates for official visits with Brown.

Copy and paste from online--so you know it is 100% accurate! Ha! But if it is accurate, it doesn't sound like this Clone will do like Feuerbach did.
