Ryan Fitzgerald and Mason Woods

When thinking about it, it's a very odd situation. You have two players of coaches who are on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the coaches are at an entirely different school. Even more ironic is that the two coaches are at the exact same school. I'd have to presume that has never happened before in college football.

I guess this just speaks to the respect that Lavar and Pat have for KF and the Iowa football program. It's really unique.

I'm not as surprised that Mason might stay at Iowa having grown up here and all that. But Ryan staying when he's a walk on and very likely never going to play really surprises me. I figured when his Dad got that job he'd go up there in a heartbeat and it'd make all the sense in the world. But he hasn't.. I heard both Dads were at Iowas spring game. It's extremely unique for sure.

You mean LeVar who wants to be the HC at Iowa and didn't take his son away to the B1G program he left to go coach for, LeVar? That one?

Hmmmmmm... :)

Yep. Thought the same thing. Fitzgerald is the real one that is kind of strange. Starting out buried at Iowa when could be in same position with is father/coach. Maybe they don't want that dynamic. I respect that if the case.

Don't worry, dad'll be home soon.
Do you think they would take Lavar over Seth? Going to Mich St. and getting that experience as the co-head will give him that experience and should level the playing field and give him chance I would think.
