Rumor Has It. - Dylan Riaola

The way understand it the portal is the window for you to leave where you are and be eligible to play at where you go next. So sure he could up and transfer to go to school anywhere at damn near any time but that doesn't mean he'd be eligible to play sports. But heck if I know. Say he or anyone were to challenge that who's to say how that'd play out.
Maybe that is a rule that needs to be done. A player is allowed to move on to a different school and play right away. But, if the player decides to leave before or after the portal window, they have to sit out a season. Maybe that would be enough to slow this down & deter players a bit.

I know every year the rules seem to be different but I am sure we can all remember times when a player transferred after spring practice, including the time "way back" when Charlie Jones announced he was transferring to Purdue. Maybe there was a spring portal window back then. Can't keep it all straight anymore.
Pretty sure Jones entered the Portal prior to going to Purdue.

Yes back then their was that 2nd portal window right after spring ball for everyone and that's how he did that.

Wish I could remember the youtube vid I watched about this and they were saying that a recent ruling/rule would basically make signing Raiola impossible without the head coach sitting out half the season and being penalized like 20% of their revenue. It also went on to say that the gambling problems were well known by just about everyone.

Also not sure if it was on the same video but it has been shown he was placing bets underage and was for instance betting a $1 on each pitch of a baseball game whether it was a ball or strike and has quite the betting paper trail. There is a lot more to this story that hasn’t been let out yet.

Essentially with the new NCAA rule and some of the timing of things being released it seemed the timing was very curious

Damn I hadn't seen any of that about Raiola and gambling yet.. Sure wouldn't surprise me I'll keep my eyes open for any of that to drop. That Sorsby kid seems to be in some hot water over it too
