Replace GD with Jake's high school coach and OC - video proof

Check out the videos in Lasbur's thread titled "Who Knows?". Bajezzus, multiple crossing patterns, deep post patterns, on one play Jake was under center with two backs and he faked a run to the right to one back and then faked a handoff to the left to the other back, then dropped back more and threw a TD pass.

Why cant we have action, motion and that kind of faking in the Iowa offense.

This is shameful that guys getting paid this much to coach are using such simple crap that doesnt fake out the opposition.

Too sexy, knock it off
We are just little ole' Iowa. We couldn't get the players to successfully pull off this stuff. Plus it's too risky. If we score too fast, the defense will wear down. Best to just try to keep games as close as possible, and hope we get a break that leads us to victory. Don't play to win, play not to lose.....duh.

Shotgun is a gimmick play. Jake does look pretty good in the video. Looks more vertically to me. Looks like a victim of the coaching up (down) at Iowa.

Iowa's current program is designed to coach a quarterback into submission. In recent years it seems like our most effective quarterbacks were the ones who refused to submit..... Think Banks, Tate, & Stanzi (junior season)....

Exactly, and if KF does not allow his QB's and WR's to display the talent that got them recruited to Iowa in the first place, he's going to have no one willing to come on board at the end of his tenure. Is KF that stubborn that he would run the Iowa (not his) program into the ground before he's done? I would sure hope not but he certainly needs to establish a better offensive identity before he's done or it will be awfully bleak until the next HC (hopefully) turns it around.

Because you can get away with 2 run fakes on 1 play when you are facing a high school defense. Do that in college football, against a quality defense like MSU or OSU has and you'll likely get your QB killed.
