Considering football's recruiting success at DeMatha Catholic in suburban Washington, I'm wondering whether Fran also will be looking in that direction.
DeMatha is one of the top programs in the country. The two-time defending city champion, the school is looking to make it three in a row tonight. The school has graduated several NBA players, including Hall of Famer Adrian Dantley.
On the current roster, Mikael Hopkins, a 6-foot-9 post player, has committed to Georgetown. Juniors Jerami Grant, a 6-7 forward, and James Robinson, point guard, have offers from Top 25 programs. Schools expressing interest in Grant, son of former NBA player Harvey Grant, include Maryland, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Georgia Tech, Villanova, Pittsburgh and Clemson. Robinson holds offers from Maryland, Georgetown, Virginia, West Virginia, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh.
