The staff did a great job of preparing the team and managing game situatioins. Being at CHA and watching McCaffrey and staff discuss strategy, talk to the team and individual players is fascinating. Time outs were well utilized, substitutions came at the right time, nobody got into foul trouble and sets got executed (even down to the Gatens to Cartwright back in bounds play at the end).
Cole commented on the post game that that McCaffrey is a players coach who motivates and inspires players with a hands on approach. He referenced Lickliter's style as the exact opposite and said it was very mechanical and impersonal.
