I've heard G Finley Bizjack (Butler) name mentioned, as well as G Isaiah Johnson (Colorado). Also C Andrew McKeever (St. Mary's) Need to see some visits lined up to settle my nerves. So hyped and anxious for '26-'27 season already!

A lot of moving parts…do they plan as if Banks and Folguerias are gone?

Wasn't Johnson here spring semester of last year. Eligible to practice but not play?

There are schools that can give him what BM isn’t. Matching seven figures for a second year…is that a wise investment?
I think he would have entered the portal today if he was contemplating leaving. I also read Iowa has $8-10 million to spend. Not sure if true or not.

If Iowa truly has a budget of 10 million, Folg is worth at least 1 of that IMHO.

I could see earmarking 500k for Banks and trying to get the extra year. He is a very good player, but I also would not hold off on recruiting his position given the uncertainty. If you are Banks, why would you not try to get the extra year. He isn't going to the NBA.

Really need to find a way to keep Folguerias around.

It really sucks that these players have to make these decisions based on money. I don't blame them though, I'd probably do the same, but it sucks.

I'm OK if he goes, but would rather have him back. He's a very good player but is taking up a lot of the NIL. He may be overrated in people's minds a bit because of his shot against Florida. He averaged 8 points and 3 rebounds. We can't have him taking up money well into 7-figures. Again, he's a very good player and I hope we can get him back, but not a the price tag he's commanding.

Another target mentioned is Sananda Fru, 6'11" forward from Louisville. He'll be a senior.

Sananda Fru, a 6-foot-11 forward/center, averaged 9pts., 6 reb., 1.4blks in 22 min.p/game...boasting a high 75.3% field goal percentage. (only 61% at the free throw line, so could be a late-game liability, like Manyawu) He is known as an athletic finisher, effective cutter, and versatile defender with a 7-foot-4 wingspan. Legit rim protector and lob threat.

Banks might be a coin flip with the NCAA. Alvaro many think is going to have other offers Iowa may not want to match. But I haven't seen anything at all about him getting into the portal yet.

This is pretty much where I stand with him. I'd like to have him back but his inconsistency makes it difficult to pay the kind of money we did last year. Hopefully if he does stay, he can make himself a more reliable player.

I cannot imagine what that guy will cost on the open market. It will be an insane price. Remember when NIL first came out and Fran thought everyone should get 50k and a car?

This whole system is so daffy duck crazy. Can you imagine if every year in the NFL or the NBA every player was a free agent? Hopefully the executive order requiring transfers to sit for a year will get put in place as a rule. That would appreciably cut down on the movement and craziness. Donors don't tend to be long term thinkers.

It sounds like he's getting some pretty crazy offers from some pretty successful schools, which I hope we don't match.

Then make coaches sit out a year if they try to leave for another school while still under contract.

He reportedly made $2M last year.
