What if Fran got Penn to the sweet 16 in the NCAA. Gawd, that would suck!
I think that would be really, really funny! What if Fran got Penn to the sweet 16 in the NCAA. Gawd, that would suck!
He's getting two paychecks, probably loving lifeWeird seeing Fran on the Penn sideline! He seems very calm!
That would be funny. But I’m pretty sure Fran will keep his tournament record goingI thought the same thing. What would be even funnier is if they got a 14 or 15 seed and beat Iowa State.
That's his level. Was in over his head in the B1G.Congrats to Fran. He has taken all 5 schools that he was the head coach at to the tournament. Considering that 4 of the 5 schools were mid-majors…that is pretty impressive. He is one of 5 coaches to take at least 5 different teams to the tournament.
Although they'll deny it, the seeding committee no doubt will seriously consider putting Iowa and Penn in the same bracket.

It is unique. Unfortunately for Fran he didn’t stay long after getting thereCongrats to Fran. He has taken all 5 schools that he was the head coach at to the tournament. I think he was just better at coaching lesser talent. He really wasted some good players at IowaI don’t think he was over his head. I just think he was stubborn…he wasn’t willing to make the changes that the program needed to take the next step.

John Beilein did that. He got out of the defense and hired a dedicated coach to do the D. I think they won a NC after that. What if in year 9 or maybe year 10, Fran decides that they have to be better defensively. What happens if he swaps out a couple of guys on the coaching staff, and they become more defensive minded? He gets a “defensive coordinator” on the coaching staff. IMO, if he had made those changes… he is still coaching here.
