In OKC's season ending game last night, Payton scored 23 points on 9-13 shooting, 5-9 from deep.

Great way to end his season. After having two shoulder surgeries, he's come a long way and the Thunder evidently like his potential, which is saying a lot, IMO.

It appears he has a future in the NBA.

This would end his season. In the NBA, the two-way players, which he is, are not eligible for the playoffs.

I remember arguing with my buddy Payton's senior year and he was convinced Sanford was a legit NBA prospect. I thought he would get a cup of coffee in the G league and be off to Europe. Glad to be wrong.

I was on an island on this board last year when I suggested he had a shot at the NBA. Last year was all about his injuries and we really didn't know the extent until the season was over. From what I've read, he has a decent chance of making OKC's roster next year.

I always thought he had a legit shot at the NBA. When you are 6'7" and can shoot the 3 consistently, in today's NBA you've got a shot. He had to get healthy first.

When I was growing up in Diagonal back in the day, outhouses were still a thing. Halloween was brutal on them and the occurrence you suggest might have really happened!

OKC is reaching a point where they aren't going to be able to afford the pay raises their roster will deserve. There will be some turnover, other NBA teams are counting on it.

This. You just can't find this combination of size and shooting every day. The NBA today is heavily tilted towards the three point shot. I don't like it, but it is.

I dunno. OKC has a shit ton of 1st round draft picks the next few years…not sure if that helps or hurts Payton Sandfort chances of sticking with OKC. Sam Presti(OKC GM) will do a lot of wheeling and dealing outside of the starting 5.
