OT: ESPN'S CFB 150 "The American Game" series

It's amazing that as recently as the 1960's most schools and athletic teams in the SEC and old SWC were segregated.

In some ways that seems like eons ago, in some ways that seems like yesterday.

B1G schools would reap the benefits, especially Michigan State who seemed to get more than their share of southern players in the Duffy Daughtery era. It may have led to the genesis of the Nebraska glory days. And it was definitely a heyday for the small, all-black schools in Texas and the south, as well as the NFL teams who scouted and drafted their players.

Hayden Fry, of course, has a major footnote in the history of all of this, integrating the Southwest Conference by offering a scholarship to Jerry LeVias. Probably the biggest example, among many, of Hayden being a forward progressive thinker.
