My interest in women's basketball was driven solely by the emergence of Caitlin Clark. Now that I've seen the WNBA again, I remember why I had no previous interest in women's basketball.

Agree, although as long as Caitlin Clark plays in the WNBA, I will take an interest in the WNBA. If she ever leaves, I will probably never watch another WNBA game ever again.
Speaking of Caitlin, is anybody going to check out the FIBA women's world cup Team USA games in Germany?

Candidly, I would rather watch a WNBA with CC than any modern NBA game. The NBA has become unwatchable to me.

That's fair. Having said that, people watch things like golf and I personally find that incredibly dull. Unpopular opinion... baseball is really slow and boring on tv most of the time.

You’re talking about an entire sport being dull which isn’t the issue here. I’m a fan of good basketball and I watch a ton of the college game. I find the NBA dull because I grew up in the 80s and 90s, but if you want the highest skill level, the NBA is it.
The WNBA is only popular because Caitlin Clark made waves, and then it secondarily became en vogue to follow the sport because it’s females, and then the “goddammit we’re oppressed because we’re women…and we’re exciting too…and we deserve NBA wages even though we only exist because of NBA subsidies…and we’re pioneers” drama storyline excited the SJWs, and now you get canceled if you call the sport out for what it is…incredibly bad basketball. Add the Angel Reese drama and the Kanter Freedom stuff (which I think is HILARIOUS), and you have this discombobulated circus. It’s a train wreck people can’t stop watching and once Clark makes the smart decision to enter coaching it’ll fall apart into what it used to be before.
I guess what I’m saying is that skill and the quality of the product is about 37th on the list of reasons people pay attention to WNBA and its backwards to what it should be. It’s a soap opera—nothing more. Literally no one thinks it’s good basketball, it’s just that the white knights won’t admit it.

NBA playoff basketball I enjoy a lot. It is beautiful basketball when everyone gives a shit. The regular season I am with you…I just need to check into a game 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there. As many have noted, the discourse about the NBA is far more interesting than the regular season games themselves.

One thing I find interesting about the W is how getting your name out there has become a thing.
Most of the W players resent CC and her popularity. Although they know down deep their increased pay, higher tv ratings, higher attendance numbered are due to her presence. They all wish they could have a small part of her endorsement money.
I think Sophie Cunningham is a good case in point. She has done a great job of getting her name out there. She's only an average basketball player. The thing she did that helped her take off was tackling that player driving to the basket after she did a hard foul on CC. It put her name out there in a big way and she has capitalized on it. Agree with her or not, like it or not, she has put her name out there and is milking for everything she's got. Good for her.
Every time there is a CC incident, usually some hard, senseless foul, I wonder if it was a ploy by the player to their name out there. It does get their name out there. Can they milk it for $$$$$, who knows but I guess I don't blame them for trying.
I agree that the basketball isn't really very good. When a team is playing well, passing the ball, shooting well, playing good D it can be entertaining.
Does is seem to anybody else that are lots of injuries in the W as the season wears on? The game must take a hard tool on the ladies.
I don't watch CC and the Fever like I did in the beginning. I still pay attention, pay attention to most of the box scores but I haven't watched her in the World Cup or whatever it's called.
