NCAA Championship Game

I hope I'm not missing one, but I didn't see any post regarding the culmination of the season we've all just discussed, so here's one. Besides having what seems to be an inordinate amount of fouls called, I have to think this was the sloppiest Championship game I can remember, and that covers a lot of ground.

Indiana wins FB NC
PSU wins wrestling NC
UCLA women win BB NC
and Michigan wins the men's BB NC

Not sure I've witnessed this before.

With that said...suck it SEC.

To be fair UCLA has only been in Big Ten for 2 years and Big Ten has only had 18 teams for 2 years, which helps it chances to win championships.

But yeah, Indiana, Ohio St and Michigan have always been here and scoring national championships in college football three years in a row, and now men's basketball is very impressive.

To be fair every P4 conference has expanded with more teams which helps their chance to win championships.

SCum played UConn ball and still prevailed.

Mara's stat line isn't all that impressive, but man was he an influencer.

And for the record, I'm just as glad that Hurley lost as I am scum/B1G won.

Yeah. Mara was the difference. UConn competed better than I expected.
Yeah UConn gave em a run for their $ more then I thought. Refs let em play quite a bit. Uconn coulda had 3 guys foul out pretty early had they called it tighter. Both teams didn't shoot well. Big moment everyone woulda been tight not a big surprise. The better team won

Glad to see Michigan win one for the B1G. I thought it would be a close game because UCONN knows how to slow a game down and make it ugly and they did. Much like Iowa in some ways.

I HATE the fact that I was rooting for Michigan, but there I was. Neither team could hit shit from the outside. Michigan was better in the paint. That was the difference. As someone else said, I did not expect it to be that close. Michigan wins that game 8 out of 10 times. UConn gave it a good run. Hurley is annoying as hell, but that man can coach.....

Big Ten was really good this year and basketball wasn't because of adding the west coast teams (an excuse we hear about in other sports). Big Ten finished 21-8 in tournament play and it feels good that Iowa contributed to that.

That was big. Clearly those are the two best coaches. Underwood has his issues and Tommy Lloyd is good at getting players but like the Gonzaga team he did that for he hasn't won the big game yet.

Didn't mind seeing Michigan win. Didn't really want to hear about a UCONN dynasty and see Hurley more than we will. Wanted Us crowned the best conference hands down as well. Hated seeing Michigan win the last one over Seton Hall. That was a Big 10-Big east showdown where I really liked the Big East team and even liked Coach P.J.

We already got odds for next years champion lol! Again Iowa getting some respect at 65/1. Nebraska 100/1, Wisky and OSU are 80/1. They also like the west coast teams so USC and UCLA are the same 65/1 as us. Still behind of course Michigan, MSU, Purdue, Ill. and ISU. Duke is the overall favorite just ahead of Michigan to repeat.

Michigan was 25-28 from the line. If they would have shot 75% they probably lose
Michigan was the best team and Hurley is a nut but he can coach

The first 12 minutes of the 2nd half was so intense. The refs really lost control there for awhile and I was sure a fight was going to break out any minute. Then things slowed down and calmed down by the end of the game. The refs were very fortunate.

Watching UConn reminded me an awful lot of what Iowa teams are going to look like under McCollum. Not uber-talented, but enough talent to beat almost anybody because of how hard they play Defense and work together, and never quit.
