2. The time when Dee Brown called Bob Brooks’ giant tape recorder a VCR:

This might rank as the funniest of all these moments.

The Iowa men’s basketball team had just played a game at Illinois when legendary radio personality Bob Brooks stuck his giant tape recorder near the face of Illinois guard Dee Brown.

Upon seeing the size of Brooks’ tape recorder, Brown took a step back and said; “Yo, dog, is that a VCR?”

Brooks then responded in classic Bob Brooks fashion by saying, “no dog, it’s not a VCR.”

The Brooks anecdote was a nice chuckle, but other than that...really?

This one time I went to buy 4 baking potatoes at the store. When I got home, I looked at them and saw that one was a lot smaller than the other 3. The wife said how can we possibly serve that for our guests? Boy did we have a laugh. Ha ha ha....

I worked at a radio station managed by Marty Tirrell, so....

I was gonna say my top 15 list of sports media funny moments is better. But it's not. Hard to think of any actual funny moments.

I do have a 15 most terrifying/feeling of helplessness moments.

The longest list, by far, is the "how is he going to get away with that?/how many more times can he escape the noose?/this seems awfully shady" list.
