Megan has signed a 2 year deal with the Portland Fire. First year is worth $500,000 and the second $525,000. Happy for Megan to finally get a decent contract.

I'm happy for all the W players, they are finally making some decent money.

I saw a Fever roster $ breakdown, CC is also making in that $500K range. Most of the stars on the Fever are in that $1M to $1.5M range. I'd guess this is CC's way to keep the core of the team together and happy. She'll take less money since she doesn't really need it.

Not to take away, too much, from this thread being about Megan and I hope she has a great two years in Portland, but I feel CC is more responsible for the new CBA than anybody, the W finally is waking up to her impact.

Did anyone else notice that every single Fever game is going to be nationally televised?

Caitlin did not really have a choice on salary she gets since she is still in 3rd year of her rookie deal. Although the new WNBA players contract did throw her some bones. Since she is a 2 time WNBA all-star, and was voted all-WNBA her rookie year, she is being paid extra compared to the normal rookie contract. Caitlin is getting paid more than Angel Reese, for example, even though Angel is also a 2 time all-srar but Angel was never all-WNBA and was not the first overall draft pick.

Also due to this clause, Caitlin is effectively a free agent in her 4th year instead of her 5th year, unless the Fever want to pay her the max contract in her 4th year, which is probably what they will do anyway. In fact next year, I expect the Fever will sign Caitlin to a multi-year deal where she gets paid the max every year.

Aliyah Boston is also signed to a multi-year deal where she will get paid the max salary.

This probably means that Kelsey Mitchell, who got a 1-year "supermax" deal with the Fever this year, probably has only 1 year left with the Fever if she continues to want to be paid the max salary in what are probably her prime years.

Other than those 3, I think the most any player is getting paid is either Lexi Hull, Sophie Cunningham, or Monique Billings at around $700k to $800k .

So this is probably the last year that Mitchell, Boston and Clark will be together. If these 3 want to win a championship together, this will be the last year to do it.

Speaking of Magan, she's had a great career at this point.

She's played overseas in quite a few countries now, got her dog in Poland. She has a home in Spain along with her Spanish citizenship which allows her to play on their Olympic team. Her significant other, David DiLeo, has played pro ball in Spain so I assume the Spanish thing is a package deal. She had a home on the Wisconsin side of the Twin Cities area. Since DiLeo is from Iowa City, I've wondered if maybe they've settled in the Iowa City area?

She won a ring with the Las Vegas Aces last year!!

I wish Megan well, I've followed her career as a fan.

And, one last thought, DiLeo is 6'9", Megan 6'3", can you imagine how tall their kids might be, if they decide to go down that route? I say sign them up at an early age!

Yes. Megan seems to be living an interesting life. Did she have to give up American citizenship or is she now considered a dual citizen? I wonder what made her pick Spain? The last name Gustafson suggests a Scandanavian origin. The name DiLeo suggests an Italian background.

Now that she has a big bucks 2-year contract with Portland, maybe she will want to just move to Portland and take off-season off.

In the end it doesn't matter. Just stupid things that I wonder about.
