Lots of Portal Action

Won't be long now... Rumblings all over X. Not sure if it's the big guy or the guard that's visiting this weekend. Or hell maybe both. But it sounds like something is immanent just hold tight.
Sounds like the guard from Illinois State. Apparently cancelled visits after visiting Iowa. Soph.

Yup it is. Ty Coleman 6'2 180. Was a freshman last yr has 3 yrs to play. 10 pts 2 rbs 2 assists in like 23 mins per game. Many give the pickup a thumbs up. Kid is quick and shot 42% from 3 with limited attempts. Now let's see if they can land the big guy too.

If we get that big guy hopefully .
Yeah, the "once they get to where they want to be" might not be next season but I see them getting there with the continued backing and commitment to coach Ben. I mean look where he has coached previous and he wants to be here to get the players he couldn't before and be a serious team every year. He didn't want to come here to still not get that. And we don't want him here for a short time then going somewhere else cause he didn't get what he hoped to.

So, Coon signed, Coleman in the fold and sounds like they are going pretty hard on Donovan Davis and the SG Jeremiah Johnson and hopefully the center! Lets see if we can get 'em all. ISU adds 5 Louisville adds 6 etc. Why can't we get 4 solid guys? :)

The fact that Iowa has only had one guy enter the portal (I am not counting Banks) means his guys want to stay with him and keeping building a championship level team.
Obviously, that can be a two-edged sword. Iowa should be awash in cash given the BTN payout, the tournament money and the private donations. Have to think that Iowa is a very hard sell or McCollum is just very picky. Haven't had time to follow his recruiting. How is he doing with HS seniors? I think we are currently being manned by ten/eleven players, so we need others, preferably some studs, to fill out the roster.

Getting McKeever is huge. I hope they got him under 3 million, but I am not going to complain if they didn’t.
Wow that was a minute or two after visit must have been some heavy bartering lol hope we got a little left for other two spots .

He was cooked at Creighton. Never a good fit. I am sure he got another nice pay day. Teams are desperate for 7 footers that have an ounce of athleticism.
I watched him play on the tube for Creighton a few times this season. Why do you think it didn't work out? Is Dix staying there, or is he out of eligibility?

Candidly, I think he was still recovering from injury the first part of the season and then got beat out by a better scoring center. Kid from Serbia. I thought it was a good fit as Fran and McDermott run a similar system. No D, lots of 3s, fast paced. Freeman just never got much opportunity. When he did get in he typically was effective.

Dix is done.

McKeever: many deficenies to his game.
low free throw %
low field goal % (considering he plays close to the basket)
low shot block %
tends to disappear against high majors.

However, if McCollum stays with a slower, half-court offense, I think that will benefit and maximize McKeever's opportunity. (TBH, I would have preferred Drew Scharnowski.) Coach and staff saw something in McKeever. I'll trust the process.
