Maybe he's hoping for that but I don't get the vibe that Beth will name one prior to KF retiringAnd, head coach in waiting?

Personal Statement
In all things, I consider myself a competitor who knows how to put in the detail work to get the job done. This trait has served me well, both academically (I am a 4.0 student and in the top 5% of my class) and athletically (I was honored to be selected as first team all-district after my sophomore year, with 701 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns). Here are the reasons why I thrive in the red zone:
-Height: 6'2"
-Wingspan: 6'5"
-40 time: 4.6
-High Jump: 6'4"
-Elite hands
Three-star recruit, redshirt freshman, no playing time.
on3 shows him being 100% lock to Iowa now before his visit today.Personal Statement

Has there been any talk about a Punter or long snapper? I am going to assume we are talking to Melbourne about some kids but have not heard. Also haven't heard anything on the Special Teams Coordinator. Last I heard some of the talking heads believed it was going to be an inside candidate from what they had heard.
This would be another really strong get. Solid kid. Would add depth to the room.on3 shows him being 100% lock to Iowa now before his visit today.
Sounds like he's a ball of clay with 3 yrs to play. Or was this his RS yr and he has 4? Either way 6'2 200ish lb WR is nice size and getting a kid like that is similar to getting a HS kid from the recruiting class. My guess is Barnes and Budmyer remember him from when he was being recruited out of HS but maybe not hard to sayThis would be another really strong get. Solid kid. Would add depth to the room.
I am definitely surprised at the volume of portal work KF and Co are doing this cycle. Pleasantly so.

We did offer a long snapper recently (yesterday?). I know of 2 different punters Iowa is looking at. 1 a transfer and 1 Aussie.Has there been any talk about a Punter or long snapper? Tanner Philpott(sp?)
Simpson College punter…I know they are looking at him…don’t know if they will offer. I guess we will find out in the next few hours.

I always liked Chester Copperpot.I like the name Tanner Philpott.
In college I was an RA and half my guys were football players. One of the walk-on undersized lineman decided the only way he would see the field was as a long snapper. So, all winter long he would practice long snaps down the hall of the dorm. Peckerhead must have broken at least 3 overhead lights. He never saw the field. If it were easy, they would not make it a special position.I'll do it for free and save us some NIL.
It's long snapping. Can't be that hard.
I heard on the Locked On Podcast that Phillips also led the FCS with yards after contact. Something like 1,200 yards of his 1,900 came after contact. I get the lesser competition, but that is impressive anyway you look at it. I think he will contribute right away. 5'9 220. Hard to bring down guys like that.LJ Phillips - i duno, I see huge holes and running lanes.
Is his first name Lawrence? Lawrence Phillips!!! Eek!I heard on the Locked On Podcast that Phillips also led the FCS with yards after contact. Yeah it's tough to evaluate RBs that have dominant Olines like that. I look for his vision decisions and can he run through contact. Is he easy to tackle? Does he run into the backs of his Oline or run to daylight. He certainly runs to daylight well when it's obvious anyway. He's capable of being a bell cow and toting it 20 plus times a game which we may not need him to ever do. Also a good thing. Doesn't seem to be breakaway speed fast but a 225 lb 5'9 bowling ball isn't expected to be that either. I think he's a solid pickup to replace Patterson with.LJ Phillips - i duno, I see huge holes and running lanes.
I had a hard time figuring out why they brought him into the fold -- and then it hit me: what's the most consequential loss after the 2025 season? Someone strong enough and reliable enough to replace the Gronowski Plowski! This dude will be perfect! He takes the snap from center, he has a low center of gravity to plow forward, OR the TE can just pick him up and toss him over the LOS into the EZone! Dude could end up with 15 TDs next season!Yeah it's tough to evaluate RBs that have dominant Olines like that. I look for his vision decisions and can he run through contact. Is he easy to tackle? I could see that... Hecklinski probably won't be used the same way MG was and nor should he. So be it Williams or this Phillips kid it'd be nice if someone else could.
