Kirk post game

Anyone see the post game interview on the field when Rick Pizzo asked him about the "26 seniors and last week's loss"? Kirk got visibly choked up and as low key as Kirk appears to be it seems like he gets emotional after the game more often than not.

Yes he did this is a great senior class and give credit not only to coach's but the senior class did not let season get away big win. Go Hawks

PJ - yes I had started a thread on this as well. I wonder if there is something else going on? I know it is not unusual for him to be this way, but it seems he has gotten this way more than usual of late?

Obviously we're not privy to the details of Kirk's personal life - so hard to say if there's something there fueling the emotion as well. As an outside observer - you have to point to Norm Parker being at the game and the battle he's waging as an influence. Having his son snap at center is probably a contributor there as well. Watching his team snap back from adversity and fight like warriors can't hurt. I sometimes think Kirk really does believe, deep in his bones, that Iowa has to struggle, fight and overachieve for each success it has --- something like a perpetual 'Rudy' ****** for each victory. Just happy we have Kirk as opposed to someone like DickRod.

As I said in the other thread, I think that as tough as the fanbase was on KF last week, it pales in comparison to how hard he is on himself.

He knows what the stakes are for the program and his legacy this season, and what they accomplished yesterday was no small feat, and not light in significance either.
