It's hard watching Selection Sunday when you don't have a dog in the fight

Ugghh ... Each year it is painful seeing the Hawks once again not qualify for the tournament. We are definitely headed in the right direction but it still does not take away the sting of not having a team in the tournament. Just read this is the first time since 2007 that at least one team from Iowa (Iowa, ISU, Drake, or UNI) did not qualify for the qualified for March Madness.

Hopefully that will turn around next season ...

Actually, it feels kind of good thanks to a bright future outlook for the Hawks...I did not even turn it on over the last several years. Now at least I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

As long as one of Iowa's 4 D-1 Schools get in I am always interested. Drove to St. Louis to watch UNI last year and went to cities to watch ISU in 2000. Hawk fan first but still like in-state schools to do well.

Yes, it sucks. But we haven't had been in it for so many years, at least now I truly feel like we'll be back very soon. The last few years of Alford I knew the program was screwed. With Lick I was hopeful but they showed no signs of turning it around and eventually took this program to a deep dark basement that I never thought it would be in.

I believe that we're gonna get back there soon. I haven't felt that way in a very long time.
