--Iowa State MBB gets shithammered out of the men's tournament by a 6 seed and Iowa makes the E8.

--Iowa beats higher seeded nebraska to go to the E8, complete with the embarrassing FOTF fiasco overseen by none other than an ISU-bred dork who's afraid of cell phones.

--Iowa beats Fatt Rhule and the Fighting Tire Fires by almost 4 touchdowns on Black Friday in lincoln.

--Has there ever been a better year to be a Hawkeye? I can't think of one.

Next up in 2026...CyTown gets leveled back into a parking lot due to no interest, and then the parking lot gets turned into a mobile home park due to lack of cars that need to park there.

I mean, we haven't beaten Iowa State much lately. We beat Nebraska pretty much always. I guess if we are looking at trendlines, things are going well. Nebbie is in a perpetual state of averageness. ISU is trending the wrong way in two major sports. Iowa State is in a freefall financially and cannot even support a girls gymnastic squad. Now we just need NC to back up a Brinks truck and yank TJ out of that shithole.

TJ is the duct tape holding that athletic department together... Could you imagine if he did leave? I don't think he would or their would be more smoke by now. But if he pulled the rug now and pulled a Kiffin it'd be the funniest damn thing ever
 
He would only leave for a better gig. ISU MBB is legit, in large part because of him. But, could he turn down a 50 million dollar deal from North Carolina. ISU fans out to be so happy that Self is returning to Kansas, because they would have looked at him.

Agreed, but it sounds like TJ is sticking around. (go figure) Ma must like Ames.

Blount has had opportunities in the past but was waiting for a good enough HC chance. Been his goal the whole time.

Green is going back to be the HC at a place he spent 16 years as an assistant and his kids’ name is in the rafters.

No brainer for either of them.

Their salaries were about 360k. Iowa’s assistant coach salaries are about 400k.

Both will be getting raises.
 
I haven't checked into who's leaving, but, if I had to choose, I'd take Addy Brown over Crooks in a heartbeat. She's gritty, intense and has a warrior mentality. Brown would be a home run addition if she's a culture fit.
 
Bryce or others may dispute this but here's the scoop I heard from someone who's son works inside the ISU athletic department.
They were preparing to write Cooks a very big check with the other players getting very little or nothing. It didn't go over well so there was a mass exodus.

That is correct. The person I talked to said the others were mad that everything revolved around her, which hurt them She didn't say if it was performance-wise or money-wise or both.
 
As discussed on the women's forum, the culture in that athletic department is questionable, Pollard seeming to want to micromanage NIL in a way that doesn't make a lot of management sense, and then I think the WBB coach has not fostered a team culture. Either way, with that sort of an exodus coming off of a tournament bid season and no coaching change? Something is amiss.

I find that commenting on women's weights almost never leads to good things, so I have no response to those threads. :)

Makes me wonder if our emphasis on JJ's post expertise combined with the fact that Ava has emerged as the focal point is one of the reasons for our own recent exodus. The thought occurs to me that Addie came in as the highest rated recruit, well, since CC, and her frosh year was less than memorable. And if Callie had the same agent, it is pretty easy to see how the dominoes might fall in this situation. Just a thought as this portal merry go round plays out.
