Iowa is 3rd overall for most drafted by schools. That ties us with 'Bama and Texas. Florida has 8 and USC has 6. Iowa has had more players drafted than Oklahoma, GT, LSU, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State.

Most of Iowa's draftees aren't highly recruited coming out of high school. This is just a testament to coach Ferentz and his staff!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Hope future recruits take notice. Iowa may not be done yet either. Only thing Iowa is missing that those schools have, is a national title... ;)

Also it is the first time ever that Iowa has had five players taken in the first four rounds!

How awesome is it to look at that list and see:

Florida-8
U$C-6
IOWA-5
Bama-5
OU-5
Texas-5

When you look at that list, who "doesn't belong?" (according to many of the 'experts')

This is not true. Bulaga was a 4 star coming out of high school by pretty much every service. Moeaki was either the #1 or #2 Tight End and was a 4-5 star prospect. Edds was a 3-4 star player out of Indiana that some services had listed as a TE. Calloway was a solid 3 star in the same class as Doering, Dace and Tony Mo.

I believe Angerer was a 3 star coming out although he did not have a ton of offers. Spievey flew under the radar as a 2 star kid from CT.

It is always nice to see the unheard of kid out of high school go on to star in college and become an NFL draft pick, but that is the exception and not the norm. Most of the guys drafted from Iowa were highly recruited kids that had quite a solid list of offers to choose from. That does not take away from their effort and all the accolades they have received, and I am dang proud to call them Hawkeyes!!
