I know it's early. But I like the feeling that the best players will play. Freshman can earn time. Underclassmen, if they are better can see the field. I feel like that's new. Might just be necessary at some positions, but overall the emphasis on putting the best 22 on the field is exciting to me.

I'm pumped for the year. I just feel like our passing offense has been so bad these last couple of years that the new coaching staff can make improvements. I'm just interested in who is going to be the starting QB and interested in the new WR. Interested to see how Easley will do as well as if one of the freshman might be up and coming.
I hope Stanley is named the starter soon. I liked what I saw last year. I guess if he looked that good last year but somebody has progressed more, I won't be concerned. Shoot, it might be an even better sign.
I like Brandon Smith from Mississippi. I really think we might have found a diamond in the rough. But I read somewhere that Smith-Marsette has been the best vertical threat.

I agree on Smith. You just don't hear much hoopla about him. I wonder why? I know he is just a Freshman, and expectations are low that young at that position.

So a kid decides to transfer and the NCOA can't get his paperwork through so he can start camp on time. Why does it always seem that they drag their feet or are completely unconcerned with the plight of the student athlete. I guess I just have a bad taste in my mouth from the Drew Ott process. I know they said no earlier than people realize and that Iowa appealed...but sometimes you have to do what's right...and look at how much time they actually played in four years. Granted, I blame KF for burning his shirt his freshman year...that was stupid.
Weigers from the pictures is a pretty put together looking dude. He obviously has put time in with Doyle. How mobile is he? Physically he and Stanley are both big guys with really large hands. Look how they can just engulf it in their hand. I just really hope whichever one they put out there first takes the job and runs with it. I don't want to see musical chairs real bad again.

Yes it was. Totally unnecessary in a wasted season.
How do you know it's not U of I admissions? When did he decide and start the process. Been a while since I have been in school but I don't remember anything paperwork wise going quickly.

In this situation, I prefer to blindly blame the NCOA. If I were a betting man...I'd say there is the issue. Can you imagine Barta up the U of I admissions groups ass while his transfer waits to practice on the sidelines. I'm doubting it would take a few weeks to get through admissions.
