The Big Ten network will be showing Iowa games all day tomorrow. Included in this will be 1990 vs Michigan, 2007 vs MSU and the 2005 Capital One Bowl again.

I don't mind the MSU game. It's fun to see Clayborn and his baby dreads.

I realize that broadcast rights are probably the reason, but I believe one of the greatest games in Iowa football history was the 1985 Michigan game. 1 v 2. Last second field goal. It doesn't get much better than that.

GO HAWKS!!!

List of games I would like to see again (not saying BTN will air these because not a lot of people would consider these great games)

at Wisky in 2003
55-doughnut in the Metrodome
at PSU in 2009
at PSU in 2004
Wisky in 2004
OSU in 2004

I would like to rewatch the entire 2002 and 2004 (except ASU) seasons. Those were a lot of fun.

For b-ball, I would love anything from the early to mid 90's. Easily my favorite basketball era, prolly since I was 10-15 years old during that time and Kingsbury.

Even the Seneca Wallace game?

I'd add the '08 season to that list. Watching Greene go beast mode all year long was very nice! Especially the game vs Wiscy. Watching him beat all four DBs for a TD was AWESOOOOOME!

Dan Doering had some big blocks in the MSU game. It was good to see him play when he was healthy. I would like to see a bigger veriaty of games however. Here are some that I would like to see.

1974 Iowa UCLA
1981 Iowa Nebraska
1983 Iowa OSU
1985 and 86 Iowa MSU
1986 Iowa Minnesota
1987 Iowa OSU
1991 Iowa OSU
1992 Iowa Illinios
1993 Iowa Talsa
1994 Iowa Minnesota
1995 Sun Bowl vs Washington
1996 Iowa Penn State
1998 Iowa Northwestern
2000 Iowa MSU
2001 Alamo Bowl vs Texas
2002-2004 too many to list
2005 Iowa Wisconsin
2006 Iowa Syracuse
2008 Iowa Minnesota
2009 any win
2011 Iowa Northwestern

One of the games they showed yesterday was our double OT basketball road victory over the '04 Hoosiers. This game was notable for three reasons:

(1) The five starters (Pierce, Boyd, Worley, Brunner and Horner) played all but 13 of the available 250 minutes.

(2) The Hoosiers actually pulled off the strategy of making the first FT and deliberately missing the second one and tipping it it to secure a tie at the buzzer. This is the only time I can remember seeing this play work.

(3) This was a game we actually won with a shot at the buzzer (Horner hit a spinning 8 footer in the lane). I can remember a LOT of games we've lost at the buzzer, but winning one...not so much.

This game was a decidedly low def broadcast, but I thought it was interesting how much Marble resembles Pierce, both in physical stature and skill set. Thankfully that is the only resemblance.

That win in Wisconsin in 2003 is probably the most underrated win of Ferentz's tenure.

I honestly don't know why BTN insists on replaying the 2007 MSU game when the 2009 game was on their air.

I watched parts of the game at Michigan in 90 I think. Forgot all about Merton Hanks and Eddie Polly. Were they included by anyone in that thread where we recounted Iowa's best DB?

Fun watching Hayden's dynamic offenses - lots of mix - not affraid to throw the ball around.

Tidly sp? was a pretty talented tight end too.

Also watch part of the LSU game and can't get over how much NFL talent was on the field that day (both sides ). Clearly the Hawks didn't have that caliber on the DLine over the last two seasons. Hope that the young guys we have now develop into the kind of guys we had in 2004.
