Iowa junior lineman James Daniels has been named to the 2017 Rimington Trophy Watch List, the Boomer Esiason Foundation announced Tuesday:

Question for you Rob. I see a couple of positions where we have players named to list. Do you have any idea how many players are named to these list? Is there a limit? It means more of course if you are one of ten compared to one of fifty.

It's funny. We asked James Daniels today about being in this list and he basically said that most returning starters from last year are on it so it's not a big deal. He's right. I think there are 60 guys on this list.

Thanks Rob as I always wondered about that but had no idea just how many are under consideration. Of course we all know that all of our players legitimately belong on those lists.
