Yes and no. He did hit the Iowa dude by accident and grabbed his shirt, but it was clearly to apologize for the stray shot. He was pointing out to that guy what happened and the Iowa guy seems just fine and understood the situation. That is me reading into what I see, but I don't see any issues with that guy.If you look closer he misses the kid with the phone and accidentally smacks Iowa's video guy (dude with the clipboard who did nothing) upside the head. That's who he grabs afterwards and pulls by the shirt. That's the problem with trying to use your hands like that. Yeah the phone kid is a douche, but hoiberg has to control himself better.
It's just a bad look. Even being an accident he looks like a doucher who can't control himself.Yes and no. In the end, Fred lost his cool. He has been doing this a long time and this is not his first court storming. Show some class. You are the face of your program. He would not one of his players doing that same thing I hope.
Totally agree. It's just a bad look. Even being an accident he looks like a doucher who can't control himself.
But everybody knew what Fran wasTotally agree.
That all said, we had Fran for 15 years, so.....![]()
I have not seen the video but it was a tough emotional game and taunting the players and coaches as they leave the floor is not something I endorse. I like beating Nebraska more than anyone except Iowa State and I would be giving the team a standing ovation from the srands
Like I said I am not a Nebraska fan and always route for anyone they are playing but I think Hoiberg is a pretty classy coach. I listened to his pregame interview with Dolph and he was very complimentary of Iowa. As far as Sandfort going to Nebraska he always wanted to go there. He was a Bebraska fan and also went to Iowa State camps when Hoiberg was there. He went to Iowa to play with his brother
Hoiberg said he fully relies on a pacemaker. He said his reaction stemmed from awareness that close contact with cellphones can interfere with the heart device.
"I am 100% reliant on a pacemaker," Hoiberg said. "I'll never forget a conversation with my doctor. A cellphone can put it off. If anything ever happens, I'm done. I will not survive if something ever happens to a pacemaker. I'm very cognizant of that, so when somebody rushes up on me with a cellphone, of course I'm going to react."
Hoiberg talked about incident he said not against court storming but not in line where handshakes are going on. He kind of alluded to the emotional nature of the game. Said he apologized to guy he accidentally hit and talked to him next day and guy told him all good and he would have reacted similarly. Also said he has to be careful with his pacemaker as cell phones can create problems? Check out the YouTube piece. If you look closer he misses the kid with the phone and accidentally smacks Iowa's video guy (dude with the clipboard who did nothing) upside the head. Yeah that’s a little sketch right there. He had enough time to think of something better.Am I lead to believe that one Frederick Hoiberg NEVER used a mobile phone of any kind or any variety? If that is true, MAYBE I feel a bit different here. Maybe. But I find that a bit hard to believe.
