Iowa apologizes for court storming

Apparently a fan shoved a camera in Hoiberg face when he was shaking hands with an Iowa staff member. He swatted it away.
Good crowd but I am not a big fan of storming the court. Iowa promised to review. Its procedures

hoebag swatted at the phone and missed, smacked Iowa’s videographer upside the head.

I get that someone taking your picture to be a dick is gonna piss you off, it would me too, but you still can’t go swiping at people.

eff ford hoebag and his whole team. And that whole state. We don’t need to apologize for shit…you don’t wanna get stormed then don’t lose as the heavy favorite, Frederick.

I hope when hoebag talked to the videographer he smacked by accident, said videographer told him to suck a fart out of his ass.

God I hate nebraska. It’s getting so much worse the older I get. I mean I’ve hated ‘em my whole life, but I reeeeaaaaalllly can’t handle those ass bags.

This is by far the best video that I've seen. The ones that I've seen were from a different angle and didn't capture what really happened like this one.

Court storming is a lot more famous for bad things that happen than good. Kid should not have been recording Hoiberg but he overreacted.
Yeah, swiping at someone's phone like that ain't ok just because of what ended up happening. If I was the videographer who got smacked I'd file assault charges just to be petty and make hoebag have to deal with that. It'd get tossed immediately because it was an accident but it'd be a distraction and an embarrassment reporters would ask him about in front of cameras. Make him squirm.

Right before the end, I texted my buddy, "we better not storm the court. This is still Nebraska BB." I was pissed when I saw the storming, but then it sort of grew on me as I saw the entire court filled and the players and coaches in the middle of it. It was good to see some joy in Carver on the men's side. Still. Let's pretend like we have been there. We were still playing the worst MBB program in major college sports.

As for Hoiberg, eh. Shit happens. I don't think anyone needed to apologize. If you storm the court and get near the enemy, you might get a shove. Deal with it.

Hoiberg coulda just kept walking he was at the end of the handshake line just keep going to the locker room. Dick move by the kid no doubt. But we have different levels of accountability that we expect from people. We don't expect 21 yr old drunk college kids to conduct themselves with the highest level of maturity. Having his phone out is literally nothing. It didn't look like the kid was going to touch Fred or get any closer then he did. What kid doesn't have a phone out most of the time anyway? Fred had to reach out to hit it (and then Kyle in the back of the head more on that in a second)

A 50 something yr old man that's been in the public eye since he was in his 20s representing a school absolutely should be able to not react to that. What if Kyle after being hit had turned and just swung back at Fred? I think we all know people in that situation that woulda turned and swung before even thinking twice luckily for everyone involved Kyle didn't. I'm glad it didn't escalate to anything more.

I had not seen that angle. Um, now I kind of think Fred was in the wrong. The kid was not in his cylinder and was moving past and away from him. Fred had to reach out with his full arm's length to swipe the phone. That was unnecessary on his part. He was not defending his personal space, he was lashing out because he lost. Show some class.

That all said, did the kid say anything? If he yelled, "eat shit Freddy" maybe his reaction was more justified. As is, he just hit a kid filming him in a public setting.

If you look closer he misses the kid with the phone and accidentally smacks Iowa's video guy (dude with the clipboard who did nothing) upside the head. That's who he grabs afterwards and pulls by the shirt. That's the problem with trying to use your hands like that. Yeah the phone kid is a douche, but hoiberg has to control himself better.

I have not seen the video but it was a tough emotional game and taunting the players and coaches as they leave the floor is not something I endorse. I like beating Nebraska more than anyone except Iowa State and I would be giving the team a standing ovation from the srands
Like I said I am not a Nebraska fan and always route for anyone they are playing but I think Hoiberg is a pretty classy coach. I listened to his pregame interview with Dolph and he was very complimentary of Iowa. As far as Sandfort going to Nebraska he always wanted to go there. He was a Bebraska fan and also went to Iowa State camps when Hoiberg was there. He went to Iowa to play with his brother

The kid said “nice game, buddy”.

Not even close to who?
The kid wasn’t all up in Freddie’s grill. Nowhere near to invading his personal space. The Clownhusker overreacted out of frustration at losing his 4th game out of the last 6.
