It was a wonderful evening in CHA. Gutty game by the Hawkeyes. Gatens finally comes through. May finally makes an impact. Don't dare forget the contributions of the much-maligned Devon Archie. Without his contributions, no Iowa victory tonight. Everybody did what they had to do, despite more erratic shooting and weak free throwing, Iowa still beat 25-5, 7-game win streak Purdue.

And, of course, fittingly Jared Cole hit some big shots and had a huge game with great D, 16 points and 8 boards. Couldn't have gone out at home much better than that.

And whatever Cesar decides, wherever he ends up playing, he saw the future in Iowa City tonight, and he heard what Hawkeye fans can do. All in all, it's the best evening of Iowa men's basketball in a looooooooooong time.

Congrats to the Hawkeyes, everyone who played, and everyone who cheered. Now let's make some noise in the Big Ten Tourney. But for now, gotta get to bed. It's 2:30 in the morning here in Saudi Arabia, and I gotta get up in a few hours for work... But it was worth it.

Great post, Mike, and I couldn't agree more!
Thanks, Jarryd! GO HAWKS!! :)

AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I missed the last 1:06 when my DVR stopped since the game went over the scheduled time.

Oh well. The 38:54 I saw was awesome.

Great to hear the fans chanting Cole's name during the game. He deserved that for sticking with the program with all that has gone on during his career.
