Iowa #19 in ESPN Poll and AP

Wasnt Iowa #23 before the Purdue game? They actually went up after that win?

I guess the voters like our defense and FG kicker and offense that can get our FG kicker into range. I am somewhat kidding as the offense has moved the ball fairly well between the 20s.

Two bad they didnt try a few more FGs at MIch

It is rather amazing the Hawks have been in the top 25 ALL SEASON(!) yet Hawk "fans" still think they suck.

Some people will just complain about everything. The same people who say we suck, also complain that we don't play anyone. Oh yeah we have played 3 top 25 teams, 2 on the road, but they won't give any credit for that at all.

What’s left of the media these days pays little attention to this when it’s turned in weekly. Many simply go strictly by records with no dive into schedules or put much thought into it. You’d be amazed who actually votes on this. Many that aren’t qualified and don’t even watch or follow anyone outside the team they cover or coach. It gets worse every year. To think iowa is the 15th best in the country is a flat out joke

I would think you could totally relate to those media guys. I mean you say you follow the Hawks, but you have zero clue about the Hawks as all.
 
Very few people in the national media actually have watched enough football to intelligently rank teams. It’s all a crap shoot. Bottom line, win games and the rankings will work themselves out.
 
Sagarin has Iowa at 20 this week, which is right where they are in both polls. Fan frustration about the offense scoring influences the reactions here. There is still 5 games left and the rankings are: Wisconsin at 8, MN 29, Neb 56, NW 68, and Ill 94. If Iowa can get its offense together it can still be a 10 win season.

Always be a Hawk fan but there is no way this team is top 25. Now if we could just convince Campbell to dump the Clones and come over and be our OC then I would vote them top 20!
