The losses and disappointments are definitely easier to take as you get older. I wish it didn't take until you hit 40 to start realizing what's important in life. At least for me. I'm at the age where both my mom and dad each had less than a decade left to live. Losing to OSU ain't gonna ruin my week.

I agree with this. It helped that the Brian Ferentz years were the lead-up to me turning 50, so he broke me of my rabid fandom. Hawks losing used to ruin my day. Brian helped me past that. For that I thank him.

I thought we had a 50% or a little better chance against Michigan. I think we have a 60% plus chance against Washington. OSU? I think maybe a 10% chance but I'd be over the moon if we could get it done.

OSU is just a tough matchup for us. They have the best player in college football, a poised, very high completion QB, and great athletes at every position. I'd be thrilled to be wrong.

They also have the highest NIL roster at $49M I think I I read.

I'm still pretty grumpy when they lose.
I'm starting to wonder if winning is worse.
I was doing pretty well with it all and then I had a kid go there. And now another one.

I'm wondering also if winning big isn't worse?There is nothing in the world that should cause my heart rate to do what it was doing on that last drive. I was shaking. Like....shaking. And then it got worse after the touchdown. My hands were almost uncontrollable.

I don't think I could handle a national title game. Win or lose.

Exactly the score I was going to predict.

This game is stress free as long as we have no injuries. We don’t need it to make the playoffs, we need the rest of them.

Go out there, be competitive, limit penalties, and don’t get hurt. Call it a loser mindset if you want but we need to concentrate on the big picture. Beating OSU isn’t necessary for the big picture.

I'm in with what you're saying. My goal would be to win , but if not get beat by less than what illinois did last week .

I had the same issue watching (in person at at Lucas Oil) Iowa unable to get a stop vs MSU at the end of the 2015 B1G champ game. I came close to puking.

And, seriously, I was downtrodden for about four months after. I shook my head at the joyous fans clamoring how great the Rose Bowl invite was. I turned it off at halftime.

I still have not re-watched that Sparty game to this day.

I got issues here. Iowa's D was NOT the reason Iowa lost to Sparty. The D was salty all game. Save one bomb in the second half, our offense was completely inept and could not win the ball. Yes, Sparty finally broke through on that last drive and scored, but only because there were a couple unbelievable holding no calls.

That said, I was at that game, and I am still not over that loss....
